No, not really. I come from a country where the only 22-year old virgins are living on convents. And I wasn't able to find a nice, friendly girl to go out with me on my birthday. I feel quite lonely today.

Well, I never managed to get any European girls so it was time to try another continent. I just felt it was time to see the rest of the world. I can live with not knowing anyone here, just today I would really have liked to have had some female company. Just for dinner or so.

I don't know how it is outside of the states, but personally, I'd love for the right-wingers to get off their abstinence kick. As a culture that moved towards marriage later in life, and that as a result of environmental factors *cough*meat/dairy industry*cough* has children entering puberty much sooner, demanding that kids to hold off on biological impulses for a decade is unreasonable, unhealthy, and unfair. If a 15-year-old is ready to have sex, is equipped with information and safe circumstances, I think that he/she should be able to say with just as much pride that they made a decision to have sex and stand by it as kids who choose to remain abstinent. I think the negative impact of cultural sanctions on a young person is underestimated, and in the end more harmful than allowing humans to follow their biological imperatives.

But I hasten to add.. to you who have mentioned with pride on this thread your decision to not have sex.

*shrugs* As I see it...if you're willing to, go for it. Otherwise, don't. And if you want to and don't have a partner, then bide your time, as you'll no doubt get one sooner or later. But relationships aren't just for sex, you know

Yeah..there's also drunken fistfights, pick-ups being run into trees, calls to child protective services, beer bottles being thrown..or is that just backwoods Idaho?

Oh sure! We've got child-support court battles, honest-to-goodness drunk hunting (there's no other way to hunt), and there's nothing more romantic than your favorite love song being sung in a Hamms-inspired croon 'neath your trailer window.
