i dunno what my first word was...i don't even have any pictures of me as a baby
my parents were pretty good with that kind of stuff with my brothers, but sort of gave up when it came to me...

Probably not such a bad thing, Clelba ... parents seem to get a great deal of pleasure from bringing out the baby photos at the first sign of a relationship ...

Bring a prospective significant other round and before you can say, "Mum, meet [name of S.O]" she's already open at the first page of the photo album where you're naked on a potty wearing nothing but a brightly coloured bead necklace and sunglasses ... or is that just my mum?

From the photos we have of my youth, I don't think I owned any clothes until I was about 3 ...

First word, I have recently discovered was Dada ... inspirational some would say; downright ungrateful would others.

My mum told me

Hmm... I've yet to meet an undertaker, but most of the doctors I know are pretty nice. I'd put my life in their hands. Unlike undertakers, though I might put my death in theirs...

My first phrase was 'I've hurt me finger'. I wouldn't talk until I was four and then I trapped me finger in teh patio door

From that first Dada it was all down hill ... couldn't shut up from then on, constantly practising new words ... by the time I was 4 I was cursing with an ability beyond my years ...

Staying with Grandmother, struggling to put socks on, sitting on the bed going "F**king socks, come on f**king socks".

Grandmother suitably and understandably shocked at such horrendous language coming from one so young said in her grandmotherly tones. "That's not what they're called. Call them by their proper name. They're "Blue" socks, not what you're calling them".

With a turn of phrase that would shock me even today, Ickle-Ekki replied, "F**king blue socks" ...

My naked baby pictures all involve red wellies and a tricycle - and nothing else

I have one photo of me as a toddler, and I can remember it being taken. My dear Mum had dressed me in a grey suit, which was made of wire wool {it felt like it, anyway} and it had silver buttons.
I was also wearing new shoes.

Mum stood me against the garden wall, next to my pushchair, and took my photo with a brownie camera.

I have the dog-eared black & white photo.

I look like a little clown with a mop of curly hair, I'm twiddling one of the silver buttons and stamping one of the shoes, toe first, hard into the ground.

I can distinctly remember my mother bending down in front of me and trying to get me to stand up straight against the brick wall, and asking me to smile. I was being itched to death by the wool and the new shoes hurt.

I must have been about 2 years old....

awww! My baby photos are all good...I was a gorgeous baby! I feel no shame in saying that myself cos I've gone downhill since There are fewer piccies of my bro though - same as Clelba!
