Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me! Posted Mar 15, 2009
Just been reading the backlog, I've got a really funny story about a guy sticking to a bike - only it was a Kawasaki 600. I watched it all and just about wet myself.
I'll save it for the Nodnol Meet, for a dull moment - if there is one.

hey, guess what, that bolide that lit up ours skies in january (17th, afair) actually fell on one of my twin island (after exploding right over my head, apparently). and a german meteorite-aficionado found pieces of it!
turns out it was as old as our solar system - 4.5 billion years - and is now being investigated by some of the finest s
there hasn't been a find like this here since 1958 so it really is something
people here are now trying to find more pieces - if they do they have to turn them in. it is the law. but they are rewarded. meteorites are worth three times the value of pure gold

well, he only found it a week ago or something like that. he studied all the surveillance camera films available and calculated where the bolide had to have landed. quite a big area, we are talking many kilometres here. some 100 square kilometres if i understand correctly. it really is amazing

reminds me of a bit of an old song - man falls into gutter - pig soon joins him...
...
As I lay there in the gutter, thinking thoughts I could not utter,
A lady passing by was heard to say, "You can tell a man who boozes by the company he chooses."
Then the pig got up and slowly walked away.
