Hello, I got bored, so I came over to annoy you even more!!
*evil laugh*
I have just discovered that the school network will let me on h2g2 because it's part of the beeb! Yay!! Yay!!
Next year it will anyway cos 6th Form will be allowed full internet access apparantly... but the important thing is that I can use it at school now. Heh heh heh. They don't like us enjoying using the computers...
I'm still bored, but now slightly less so...

What ho! Welcome to my user page!
They, that's great news! Able to surf online during the day between lessons, top stuff!
I'm lucky that the network admin guy at school hasn't spotted h2g2 yet, or he might block it - he'd classify it a chat site rather than a guide, you see, and we're not allowed on chat sites at school...

Yeah, same here... I also am lucky that h2g2 hasn't been spotted, but then I've only just discovered I can use it. I'm going to have to go easy on using it at school just in case. I was online in a lesson today (when I posted I was online after school) and I'd just posted the first thing when someone came into the lesson saying they thought someone was using a chat site and did they have permission to look into the DT network... I was lucky to hear else I'd probably have been chucked off...

Phew, you were lcuky there!
It's terrifying to think that these admin guys can find out which sites everyone's been on (or at least they can at my school). They never check them though.

Ming Mang Posted May 4, 2001
Yeah, I don't I know it! I've got a huge amount of coursework saved on school computers with no backup and if I get chucked off I can't get at it... which admittedly doesn't matter now cos it's all been given in, but if some gets lost... eek! if I can't get at it.
Yep, they can also watch exactly what we're doing all the time if they want. I have no idea if they do though. I'm hoping that they don't bother, cos then they might find out about h2g2... there's so many damn ways they can. Ack!

Well, if they do find out about h2g2 and try to block it, simply argue that
a) it's owned by the BBC, and is therefore trustworthy, and
b) it's primarily an online Guide, an encyclopedia (sp?), and would undoubtedly be useful for school work.
BTW, sorry I didn't come online last night - I was hosting a Counter-Strike game.

Well, I never usually have anything to do on Friday nights - I never go out or anything.
Sorry, that sounded wrong. I /do/ go out, but not on Friday nights.
BTW, I'm now the Muse of Infinity and Dimensional Theory.

Awwwww...! All I do is orchestra and a youth group. Not particularly exciting, but it does take up the whole evening until about half nine, by which time I'm quite tired...
I noticed! The name grows ever longer...
BTW, I'm now Minister for Short People!

Cool!
Naturally, you know I'm both Minister for Science & Technology and the Ambassador to San Beta.
Actually, my name is one character shorter than before. I try to keep it to the maximum of 128 characters (including spaces), but I couldn't think of anything else to put after getting rid of my GalaGroup bit.

Ming Mang Posted May 5, 2001
Yep, naturally! You've got it written all over you... well, in your name...
Really? Strange, I seem to be having to make the Who-is-online gismo window wider than usual to fit your whole name in. Or maybe it's just moving across the screen...

It's my magic handwriting, er, typing!
As the Minister for S & T, I have introduced a little bit of technological wonder into the Who's Online box, to make selected names expand and contract at will.

Got them!
You don't sound at all bad! 'The Sun Has Got His Hat On' was rendered in far better format than I could have done.
And your pronunciation in the poem is excellent!
What's so bad about your microphone, eh?
Morning!
Ming Mang Posted May 6, 2001
OK, I'll agree, my mic is better than I thought it was... I discovered something in the program I use that made it sound better. Unfortunately I've forgotten what it was...
Is it? Could you understand it then?? *gets very excited*

What's the program you use? If I have the same as you, I'll be able to tell you what to do.
No problems understanding it! Your speaking's fine!

Ooh, don't know WaveStudio - I use GoldWave mainly. However, there should be some similarities...
*Realises he can't find what he's looing for.*
Ah. Right. OK then...
But I also use Creative Sound'LE, and somewhere in there you should find Record Settings or Playback Settings, and you can select the quality of the recording.
And not bad singing either.
