But it was before? Hmm..../very/ dodgy security! I'm going to have a word with my webhosts - I can't have periods where anyone can get to my password-prtoected stuff! It didn't matter in the case of my Medley, but if I wanted an h2g2-only section, and wanted to keep my RL friends out, it wouldn't work.
Fiddlesticks.
Well, maybe we would lose 150 calories - 150 calories of brain matter maybe.

*huge grin*
I've downloaded it, listened to it at length, laughed a great deal and deleted every trace I could find of it...
Brilliant!!!

I'm glad you like it!
I'm rather proud of it. I'm currently fixing a few things with the tune, adding some percussion, and maybe a little more bass.
BTW, this business with the Professor being in San Beta, it probably won't affect this conversation much as it is more RL than VR. I won't be posting as much though, because of exams and revision.
I'm guessing you have English Lit. on Monday the 4th? I think all schools have to have the exams at the same time...
What are you studying for English? I'm doing "Of Mice and Men" for the book, and Heart & Partners, Ted Hughes and Other Cultures & Traditions for poetry...whew.
Morning!
Ming Mang Posted May 25, 2001
Cool!! When you've done it all, let me know and I'll listen to it again.
OK, fair eough. Good luck!
Yes, I do... I'm doing 'Of Mice and Men', 'A View from the Bridge' by Arthur Miller and poems from 'Loss and Loss' in the booklet Tracks 2. *groan* I hate English... if only it was writing stories like it used to be...

Chris Tonks Posted May 27, 2001
Don't know if I'll have time to finish it, but I just might get it done this week.
Good luck to you too!
Hmm, I don't know any of those poems, and I don't see them in my book. Are you using the Anthology? Which exam board are you on? I'm on NEAB/AQA.
*Shudders.* If you do Geography, you'll know that we have it first thing when we get back to school on Monday - evil!! And the second day we have Biology in the fternoon! *Trembles.*
Morning!
Chris Tonks Posted May 28, 2001
Oh, I've just completed the remix.
You can find it as the 'Primary Phase Remix' on the same page as the last version. Please note though that I have to polish it off a bit, as the vocals aren't quite as I wanted them.
BTW, the password is working now, so if you type in 'visitor' as the user name, and 'egon' as the password (no brackets), you'll get in.
Morning!
Ming Mang Posted May 28, 2001
Cool! OK, when I can I'll go over. I'm glad the password's working properly now.
Yes, I do Geography, and yes it's first... and I really regret taking it now. I should have done History... oh well...
Errr... *runs off to check* our exam board is Edexcel.
Just a Biology exam? Are you doing a Triple award or something then?

Morning!
Chris Tonks Posted May 28, 2001
Well, the reason I chose Geo was becuase I was quite good at it in Year 9, and not so good at History. And then it all flipped round, and I now hate Geo like anything!
Ah, I thought a different board might be the cause of the little confusion.
I'm doing the Double Award. Bio is on the Tuesday, Chem on the Monday after, and Phys on the Monday after that.
My last exam is Business Studies on Friday the 22nd of June. Plus, it's a morning exam, so I'll be going home early, meaning more time to party!
Morning!
Ming Mang Posted May 28, 2001
I chose Geog cos I wanted to be some sort of meteorologist... I was actually better at History. And now, like you, I hate Geog.
Oh. I'm doing a Double award and I've only got two science exams. *grin* Probably different boards again - I've got NEAB.
Oh! My last exam is the morning of Mon 25. RE. Goody...

Chris Tonks Posted May 28, 2001
Ah, I have SEG/AQA for Science. Ho hum...
Yes, RE is the final exam held at school, and only a few people have chosen that subject. So few in fact, that there's only one set!
Morning!
Ming Mang Posted May 28, 2001
Ahhh...
We have to do the RE Short Course. It's cos the school don't like wasting lessons and there was an uproar about six years ago when it was discovered that not all Y10 & Y11s were doing RE - a very small proportion as you'd expect cos it was a choice.
¦M¦

Chris Tonks Posted May 28, 2001
You /have/ to do RE? Gah, that's terrible!
Well, from my point of view at least - I hate RE.
Have you heard my Primary Phase Remix yet? Although the lyrics (and there are two new verses, BTW) aren't quite understandable in this version as yet, the vocals themselves are /hillarious/! You'll fall to bits when you hear what I've done to my voice!!
Morning!
Ming Mang Posted May 28, 2001
Yes, it is terrible. Well, I like the Philosophy bits. They're good. They're the reason I'm doing RE AS next year... however the rest of it is ghastly. That's why I'm stopping after AS - most of the AS course is Philosophy, the rest of the course starts getting Christian after that. No offence to any Christians, but it really annoys me.
No, I haven't heard it yet! You've got to give me time to get online while my dad isn't around...
Don't tell me! Don't tell me! If you tell me it won't be such a surprise and it won't be as funny!

I'm officially Christian, but I'm not really bothered about religion in general. I believe there's /something/ out there, possibly, but don't actually believe most of the things that happen in the Bible (and I will admit to not having read that).
Philosophy? What's all that about? I heard they all have to do it in America, but don't know much about it...
Don't worry, I won't tell you.
Morning!
Ming Mang Posted May 28, 2001
You're officially Christian? Is that your decision or your parent's?
You believe there's possibly something out there? Not the traditional Christian God then? (OK, now this is beginning to sound like 20 questions - maybe I ought to stop...)
Philosophy in RE courses is basically looking at answers to the 'Ultimate Questions' - to which they never believe the answer is 42. Humourless exam boards. The questions are like 'Is there a god?' 'Is there life after death?' 'Why are we here?'. Then you look at arguments for and against the questions. Stuff like that. There are actually real Philosophy courses, but my school/college doesn't do it...

Oh, Philosophy sounds good! It's my type of topic! I have many theories about those sort of things, all bound by my Laws of Infinity (which I'm still writing the Guide entry for).
Um, well, my dad isn't of any religion, but my mum and her family are Catholic. They let me decide, so I suppose I still choose to be a Christian. I'm not sure why... I guess I do have beliefs after all.
When I was younger and was being taught Catholic beliefs I did of course believe there was a God, and I suppose that my idea of 'something out there' is in the same form as the Christian God. I just don't really believe most of the stuff that's in the Bible, such as Genesis - I believe in evolution.

Ming Mang Posted May 29, 2001
Yay!! I thought you'd like it.
Cool! (Maybe you can explain to me exactly why the Universe is infinite?)
Oh right... fair enough.
*grin* My parents are of no religion, but I went to a C of E primary school where we were taught Christianity, as you might think. At the age of about 6 I asked the local vicar that if God had made everything, who made God? He didn't give me any sort of answer, short of saying 'a very good question' and rambling on about something or other, so ever since I have been wary of any theories involving any sort of 'First Cause' - and the origins of anything causing first causes (ie gods or specks of dense matter)...

Most interesting!
Yes, I have my own theories about beginnings as well. One theory is that there /was/ a Big Bang. However, only in /this/ dimension/reality/Universe. Other versions of this Universe could have been started differently. Additionally, there may be something outside any of our known Universes, but everything together is the Omniverse.
I theorise a possible 'space between dimensions' whch will feature heavily in the third book of the LoaGO series.
All my theories will be written down some day, but I have too many to explain here.
You know, the Great Green Arkleseizure Theory just could be true in another dimension.
