Aha...!! Coo!
*grin* Tried a hammer and chisel?
No, I didn't.
*tries it* ™ Yes, that worked. And I bet it doesn't when this is posted!

Hmm...I'll have to take the matter up with Towers some day.
*Tries again for old time's sake: ™*
Well, not too long before it's back to school and that Geography exam. This one's the physical side of geography, with tectonics, rivers, and coats. Oh, and mapwork.
I wish you the best of luck with that and the English Lit!
But think: ten weeks of holiday after this!!
Give or take one for other schools.

Ming Mang Posted Jun 3, 2001
Maybe your computer keeps trying to do something intelligent with it, whereas mine is too thick to try...?
...and weather... A lot of good luck to you to!
Oh, I've been thinking of that ten weeks since about September...! I'm going to do very little in them and enjoy it immensely.
You got any plans for them?

Yeah, it's funny ain't it? I must talk to him about finishing it off at school tomorrow, though I doubt I'll have time to see him.
Ah, I don't have to do weather and climate in this exam, just as other people don't have to do, say, rivers. I'm just not looking forward to the next Geo exam - human geography! Farming, population and resources! *Faints.*
*Wakes up.*
Plans for the hols? Well, apart from my Big List(TM) (writing my book, writing new LoaGO DataBase entries related to the book, reading the Jeeves & Wooster books, drawing, making both 2D and 3D artwork on the computer, composing new remixes of songs, wrting lyrics about other teachers I hate, and sleeping), not much else.
I'm going away with some kids from school to Paris for a week, and I'll be off to Italy for a couple of weeks during August.
Morning!
Ming Mang Posted Jun 3, 2001
OK then. I will wait with, um, baited breath...
I'm not looking forward to any of 'em.
Oh! You reminded me... I've just done a basic layout for my site re-design. Only I think subconsciously I've based on your old design BluTech or something. Sorry about that.
*grin* Well, enjoy yourself!
Hehe... my holiday is two weeks camping in Sherwood...

*Is at home between the Geography and English Lit. exams.*
Whew, well, that's that one over with. Half the stuff I revised didn't even come up!
Oh, don't worry about good ol' BluTech. I don't mind if you use it, just if someone I know from school uses it.
Camping, eh? I haven't done that in ages! And two weeks? Fab!
Hope you have a great time!

Ming Mang Posted Jun 4, 2001
Same here! Not that I revised much... and as it turned out I didn't need a single case study either - I did one on my home town (housing patterns), one on the local river (flooding) and one on the 87 hurricane (a weather event)... admittedly other people did use case studies we'd learnt, but as I hadn't bothered revising any I thought that was pretty good. Heh! Slack exam board...
How'd the English Lit. go?
I thought mine was OK... first question was the worst, but I finished ten minutes early.
Oh good. I hate pinching people's ideas, but when I pinch them without knowing about it...
Well, don't go anywhere near Sherwood in the first two weeks of August - it'll rain for at least half of that.

English Lit. wasn't too bad, no. I made a very good answer to the first question ("Of Mice And Men"), but took too long to plan the second question on poems, so I didn't finish that. Still, that plan will prove I knew the points I was /going/ to put down. Luckily, the examiners read the plans too.
I'll try not to go near Sherwood, but I might pop into Nottingham to visit my grandparents.
Morning!
Ming Mang Posted Jun 4, 2001
You only get TWO questions??
Well so long as you haven't crossed it out you should get something for it.
Well, you can go to Sherwood if you like, but expect to be rained on.

Only two questions, yes, but you have to spend an hour on each. Well, you don't /have/ to, but you know.
And I'm pretty sure I did better than last year, so that's fine.
Ooh, I'll stick with going to Italy if you don't mind.
Incidentally, I've put a list up on my user page with all the exams on. Just to depress myself.
Oh I was wondering, have you ever visited Lil's Atelier before? I'm always there conversing away with other like-minded people. I'm sure you'd like it there. It's basically where a load of people get together and talk about all things geeky. I'm sure they'd welcome a new salonista.

Ming Mang Posted Jun 4, 2001
That's so unfair... we have three questions and 50 minutes on each.
I would if I were you! Better accommodation, food, water, weather...!
You strange person! h2g2 ought to be a place to geet away from the horrors of your exams timetable...
No, I haven't. I'll put it on my list of places to try and annoy if you like!

Your exam must be long then!
Morning!
Ming Mang Posted Jun 4, 2001
Yes it was, it was two and a half hours long. And my Geography exams was two hours. Four and a half hours of exam in one day.
Cool. You enjoy it.
You're really determined for me to go there...
OK, I'll go over...

Chris Tonks Posted Jun 4, 2001
Hmm...my Geo exam was only 1 3/4 hours long... Hmm...your school made an evil choice of exam board.
Cheers, I shall. Feel free to pop over at any time.
Well, the Atelier's where I always go every time I'm on h2g2. It's the first place I check for backlog.
Ah, you've just appeared in the chat window.
