There's a drug (purinol, or somethuign like that) that's supposed to be taken regularly to prevent gout. Have you tried that?

not yet. i am trying to avoid it since it is hard on the liver and i already take two other things that affect the liver

Well, I wouldn't want you give up and and in order to treat your gout, so I hope you'll manage okay with what you're taking...

whatever you use, don't try amputationit might be a "one off"but has side effectsloss of balance

amputation is useless, the gout will just move to another joint

as for i find that every time i go on the waggon i have an outbreak of gout

apparently my body is not used to me living healthy and reacts accordingly

a friend of mine gets it now and againso joking apart, I understand my friend and my wishes that this attack is soon gone
