I bought some lozenges the other day. They were on my counter top and I looked at the packet, I read "Sin...Free"
I didn't look at the small print in between the two words, which said "Colorantes/Colouring"
...Sin is the Spanish for "without or free from"

If sins were actually "deadly" I'd be long gone...
I can't even remember what they all are. Gluttony? I think that is one.
Greed? Envy?
Anyone know what the seven deadly sins are?
Is on the list?
Pierce!

Orson Wells used to say that gluttony is not a secret vice.

There are a few other vices that are hard to hids, as well.

I've just studied the list of vices again folks, and well, I can't actually see a slot for alcoholic beverages. They are not exactly 'gluttony' or 'avarice' or 'sloth' or 'lust'
'Wrath'? no 'Vanity' no 'Envy' no...

But the seven vices are paired with their opposites, the seven virtues. Here are the pairs:
Lust / chastity or self-control
Gluttony / Temperance
Pride / Humility
Greed / Generosity
Envy / Love
Anger / Kindness
Sloth / Zeal
I think that alcohol consumption is a vice only when it is intemperate, or gluttonous.

i beg to differ: in my humble (!) opinion alcohol consumption is also a vice if you are generous and loving and kind
so if you buy the next few rounds you can drink as much as you like, paul

*practising self-control around the bottle of only partially consumed last night*
I've found that if I drink alcohol too late at night, or too much anyway, it stops me having a good night's sleep. I poured a glass of late last night, got engrossed in finishing a novel, and eventually drank the wine just before bed. Then I couldn't sleep. I kept waking up!

Moderate consumption of red wine is said to benefit your heart because it contains something called resveratrol. (You can also get resveratrol by eating peanuts, which I'm doing right now.
I hadn't heard about alcohol being a virtue if you are generous and kind.

let's try this again, shall we:
if generosity and love and kindness are virtues, then alcohol consumption is by definition also a virtue if you are generous and loving and kind enough to buy the next rounds, no?
