I was in London on Saturday, just a "flying" visit
In Trafalgar Square, there were more pigeons than tourists, and then I spotted:
*A pigeon-food-stall*
and there was a queue....
to buy the stuff, at 30p a go,
to feed the pests!
I really ~don't~ understand that....
*still scratching my head

I spotted this on a local post-box last night.
'Final collection from this post-box is at 6.30pm.
There is a later collection from Fishing Rod Lane at 6.30pm.'
If the collection from Fishing Rod Lane is at the same time as the final collection from that post box, how can it be later?

Someone made a better sounding introduction to the game "The Legend of Zelda" for NES than the Official Creators!

Bottled water is even stupider.

CD, I can offer you two possible answers to your postal conundrum:
1. the box in Fishing Road Lane is to the west of the other box so 6.30pm arrives there later, or
2. the notice was written by the copywriter responsible for the current Thomson's holiday commercial:
young guy in victorian dress (not *A* victorian dress) points and says "Over there, where the sun sets, is Spain and beyond that - Africa."
Not on this world it ain't. Well, not unless you go practically right round the world, or "beyond that" actually means "sharp left". (Sun sets in west so he's got to be east of Spain.)
You won't catch me travelling with a dodgy bunch like that. Imagine the travel supplement.

Well, he's quite possibly in front of the white cliffs of Dover, so in his day the sun would have set in a generally southerly direction.
But then Dover is a magical place - in the movie "Robin Hood", when they land at Dover one of the actors says "We shall be in Sherwood by nightfall"

Mac - are you serious? About this tapwater business? Seriously, do you realise that a large proportion of the world's population doesn't even have water in PUDDLES??

I think Mac means it's a bit silly to pay over £1 for a bottle of "brand-name" water, when it's free out of the taps & quite safe & palatable, in ~this~ country, don't you, Mac?
I grieve for all the people in the world who don't have safe water to drink.

If he was a Briton in Victorian times, wasn't he a citizen of an empire "on which the sun never sets"?

There's a lot of dodgy English geography in 'Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves'. As well as the quote you name:
Robin and Azeem go from the White Cliffs of Dover to Hadrian's Wall in a day.
There is no river like the one where Robin fought Little John anywhere near Sherwood, even the bits of Sherwood that extended into Yorkshire.
When Robin and Azeem are escaping from the Sherriff's men, Sherwood Forest is seen in the distance and is coniferous (which it wouldn't have been in those days). When they reach it, it has magically become a broad-leafed forest.

Well, it's perfectly all right to do that in "Robin Hood: Men In Tights", but this isn't that.
At one point in "Star Trek: Generations" we see Worf bending over. It cuts to another angle, and Worf bends over again, without having un-bent-over.

Jedi, (Worf, the bender)
That'll be one of those temporal anomalies which afflicted Voyager in Sunday's episode "Relativity" featuring two of Seven of Nine. (Sigh)
DJ.
Yep it looks like Dover, and I shan't argue with you and CD on ley lines and such, but remind me of the magical day when the sun set to the left of SSW. (Well, perhaps SW.)
