GB, heres a suggestion,
threaten them with legal action (hie hie)
Start sending them reminder letters and invoices, charg them for rubbish collection bills, cause thats what you seem to be doing?! Getting letters from them and throwing them away (hie hie)
I have no idea about British law but it would be fun.

The last three threads I have answered have all been activated by you, Cheeze. It seems we are destined to meet, so have some smileys

Even the so-called 'intelligent' life is capable of the odd cock-up; I refer, of course, to the famously absent-minded Sir Isaac Newton, who once boiled his watch whilst trying to tell the time from an egg. Now I thought I was forgetful, but that's class!

Someone told me that Sir Isaac had ADD....or even ADHD. As the mother of a son with ADHD, I am clinging on to hope that I am not going to inflict a psychopathic maniac on the world, for in his first seven years, my son has displayed traits which have shocked me.

Forgive me for asking, but what're ADD and ADHD?

ADD is Attention Deficiency Disorder. ADHD is Attention Deficiency Hyperactivity Disorder.

Trillian's child Posted Sep 8, 2000
I learnt at school that it was Ampère not Newton with the egg and the watch. In fact our (old -fashioned) French teacher made us learn about a page and a half just telling that anecdote. I can still remember the beginning: "Ampère était un grand savant Francais qui fit des grandes découvertes sur l'électricité..."
I have no intention of this developing into yet another francophobe forum however, so let's just say, both may have happened, but they do go to prove that people with their heads in the clouds and who are very clever can never relate to every day life. This gives me hope for the future of our family: how come, for example, is my 18-year-old who is MAJORING in PHYSICS is not capable of having a shower without the water running out of the shower and flooding the floor. This happens to no one else in the family. He has also been known to wonder why the water wasn't boiling when he was supposed to be cooking pasta. It does help if you switch the hot-plate on, we had to tell him. He knows only too well about electrical circuits etc., but can't apply it to feeding his stomach.
Is this intelligent life?

Hey. "Sane genius" is a contradiction in terms.

Trillians Child...I got a huge laugh at that Site...my mum loved it too.
GB (or little miss naughty), and Trillian's Child, Id have to agree with our local Jedi, that was something I was going to say.
Dont worry too much about your sons, they will turn out just fine
There is a theory about strange behavour and geneus, it has been said there is a link between the two.
So dont worry

Don't worry?
My 7 year old turns on the gas taps on my cooker for fun!
He laughs at my reaction!
What a relief that I have a budding genius in the making, that's if we all live that long

Ok I dont have kids, so dont listen to any thing i say...I dont know haw i can help you...but if you are still around in a week or two, i could give you some advice...I'm reading a book on the troubled mind. A text book on Mental disorders and other strange behavour.
But in the mean time keep a fire extinguisher near you at all times...now that advice you can take...its all i can offer at this time.
But otherwise keep smiling

I mean he turns the gas taps on *unlit*.
No need for a fire extinguisher....
Heaven help us if he did that, THEN lit the gas, I wouldn't be telling you the results. I'd be a real-life Angel
My son has ADHD, please let me know what you find out!
I should write a Guide Entry on it, but I don't know the causes.
I could write about living with it, though.
*smiles a big smile at Cheeze*

I will have to research it a bit but i wouldnt have fun.
According to my knowledge, ADD and ADHD are not really caused by any thing, but i have at times been known to be wrong!!!
The extinguisher thing is more like a pre-emptive strike, if he does happen to relise that sparks and gas cause fire you will be prepaired!!!

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Sep 9, 2000
But if he lit the gas after a lot of it had escaped I wouldn't need a fire extinguisher, would I?
The house would blow up.
I don't know how I sleep nights.
*therapy smile*
