Now that I think of it, there's daffy about the idea of buying a can of snow and tghen having to keep it chilled.

Well, a popular Christmas event in California is to pay a company to spray your yard with snow. Now, towns and cities are doing it on a large scale. http://www.latimes.com/wireless/avantgo/local/la/la-me-snow9dec09.story

Meanwhile, hundreds of towns in New England are paying someone to *remove* the snow from their roads. If only there were a way to ship it to where it's wanted.

It's been one of those wonderful winter days when the sun shone from rise to set (about 6 hours!), there wasn't a breath of wind and it didn't get above freezing.
I had a striding-out walk (to rid myself of the final vestiges of a cold) and got home with glowing cheeks and full of vigour.
It's time to light the open fire and roast some chestnuts...

According to the thermometer gadget on my mobile phone, it was minus 7 in Scarborough this morning!
But a beautiful clear day, and it warmed up a bit later...

I added some photos to my Christmas album, including some "winter pictures" (yeah... winter... HA!)

It isn't the photos, but the fact that it is SUPPOSED to be winter.

Winter in Ottawa not only should have more snow, but should be colder than it has been. In the last week, I wave been walking around wearing my clogs over bare feet, no hat, and no gloves. Yesterday, I had all the windows open for most of the day.
At Christmas we usually lose most of our snow to rain and freezing rain, but it usually is much, much colder than it has been.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Dec 30, 2003
Bloody cold this morning when I went out to get the bus to w**k. I'm sure I heard them say on the radio that it was 45º but it felt a damn sight colder Not a cloud in the sky all day long, and an afternoon maximum of a pleasant 63ºF (17ºC)

It hit a high of 60 in Boston, Gosho.
How did it feel to be in Austin, and to be colder than Ottawa?

Well, I wouldn't go as far as saying that Gosho is getting warmer weather than we are. It is 2C at the moment which is 37.4F. Tomorrow, it is supposed to be 6C or 42.8F and rainy......
Delightful.

Cold again this morning (37ºF), clear sky and a carbon copy of yesterday I guess (high in the lower 60s), although I think there's a forecast of increasing cloud by this evening and *SHOCK HORROR* a possibility of rain on Thursday *faints* ::THUD::
Looks like we'll be ending the year with a rainfall deficit of about 11 1/2" - about one third of Austin's annual rainfall.

It is currently raining heavily. There are ducks on the lakes forming on the Experimental Farm fields (my bus goes thru them on my way to work).
Not a bad day for Spring.....

Snow today: not a lot, but there was some, which was nice. It's bloody cold out there, but we have a nice new combi boiler that chucks out shedloads of heat. Brrrr....
