Is it time yet to talk about 2012 United States Presidential Election?

Personally I think a Sith Wrongly presidency would be a global disaster.
I have watched his speeches and hidden amongst all the nationalistic rhetoric about how great America, Americans and their Gawd are (obviously us beknighted souls from elsewhere eat our babies and worship Satan in the form of Karl Marx and the NHS) - the one policy that lurks behind the patriotic smoke screen is to embrace the coal and oil industries and abandon any pretence of taking climate change seriously, and if the US goes down that path then any hope that China, India, Russia and Brazil will make any effort to reduce greenhouse gas immissions or protect key carbon sinks is lost and the future will be very bleak

That posted blog is a manifesto!
In a way it gives me hope, even if it remains typical
of the ego-centricity of American intellectualism. Its
cynicism and fatalistic realism however will be lost
on a democratic majority - the mob is still conditioned
to react only to icons not true ideologies because the
basic mechanics of the electoral college (the means of
production) are still in the hands of big capital whose
stick is a golden carrot of promised instant gratification.
In other words, depth is (by definition) lost in the shallows.

It's happening again - like the last time (Gore-Bush): local level obstruction against the minorities and the poor.
A Times editorial over the weekend described recent Republican efforts to confuse, mislead or intimidate voters, hamper early voting, and otherwise reduce turnout among minorities, poor people and other likely Democrats in Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Wisconsin, Iowa and Florida. The situation in that last state is particularly egregious.

What really bugs me about these incidents is that we seem to be just witnessing them; it does not appear that anyone is stepping in to enforce the law of one person - one vote. This is just crazy. Up until now, I only heard about these things after the fact. But these things are happening now and are being shown live on tv and the internet. Why isn't something being done? Do you have to have a committee to prevent a murder? (trying not to panic)

Tuesday evening...
It seems to all be happening now.
The early results are as predicted.
Fingers crossed.
Please god don't let us get caught up
in a protracted decision...

Well it seems to be all over but the shouting
and name calling and possible legal actions.
And after 3 billion dollars, two years of sniping,
hypocrisy, lies and emotional blackmail the US has
ended up pretty much where they were before - with
a slight Democratic majority in the Senate, a Tea
Party addled Republican Congress and a human being
as President trying to operate a soulless colossus
machine - the military/industrial complex Eisenhower
warned was coming.
Luke Skywalker is still President but the Evil Empire
is on an autopilot collision course with itself.

There were some pretty significant ballot issues that got passed.

indeed.
...meanwhile, on the same ballot in California, Prop.37, the initiative to actually LABEL food containing GMO's in California and thus the rest of the US, failed.
Monsanto, PepsiCo and others, including some 'organic' producers pumped $45MILLION into a campaign of lies and deception to prevent a law requiring them to indicate that their food is....not exactly natural.
The fight continues.
Bom Shiva! I might be moving to Colorado soon!
