Killing whales. Enough studies will have been done to show that they suffer more than people. It will be seen as equivalent to murdering humans, even for Inuit who have cultural 'permission' to do so.

With growing population density I think noise pollution will become an issue - to the point where it will be seen as unacceptable to drive cars and motorbikes with excessively loud engines/exhausts.
Which means the wee shitebags revving the tits off their 10 year old Corsas and Ibizas in the supermarket car park near me right now would be in trouble.

It would be nice if they devised car doors which shut quietly, too.

Okay. How about Internet anonymity, or pseudo-anonymity. Some people are very against already.

Yeah in real life too!
Thou shalt not wear a hoodie, ski mask, helmet,
Halloween face or headscarf in a public place.
All the better to capture your visage on CCTV
on the off-chance you commit some offense and
may be required to 'face' charges.

Hopefully, it will be unacceptbale for people to say 'That's not right, that's un-PC.'
And kill half the things on this thread.
People stating things are -un-PC causes more problems than anything else and starts second guessing about what people might be offended about etc which makes certain people even more twitchy at things.
Hopefully, it will be unacceptable that when someone makes a mild expletive on live TV or radio for the presenter to apologise hence treating us all like kids...

On a similar note: Affirmative Action. Good when it was created, counter-productive now. Just hire whoever's most qualified, take race and gender and religion and whatever the hell else out of it altogether. Continuing to make an issue out of this is, in my opinion, only perpetuating the problem.

please don't get me started on affirmative action, I find it insulting to both sexes (or races etc etc), not to mention riskily illegal (as in it would be in the UK, even if UK law allowed it) by EU and especially International law

on the other hand, letting everyone hire who they want and exclude women and other minorities has really evened out the workplace

That's why I said it was good when it started. But I don't think that would be an issue now. Call me naive if you must.

(Medicine is now 50% female in the UK. One little victory).

that's good to hear, Z. What about senior positions? (sorry, that sounds aggressive, it's just an enquiry

Well the younger doctors are the more female ones. The first year when more graduates were female was 2005, so we'll have to see how it pans out. They're not experienced enough for senior positions yet.
But women are getting the senior jobs when they become available. At a recent conderence I over heard a woman being head hunted for very senior job, she was visibly about 8 months pregnant and it didn't bother either of them.

Naive.
All the stats, all the evidence shows that we are far, far, far away form Gender, Ethnicity, Disability and Sexual Orientation based equality in employment in the UK.
Except in the fantasies of the harumpfing Telegraph/Daily Heil brigade.

Yeah. Right. A law against masks.
That would be great, except you know there are a group of people in this country who'd have to be excluded from that law because of their choice of sky-pixie. And choice method of political dissent for the particularly active ones is the the suicide bomb.

Possibly only the very poor and financial incompetents will use it in 50 years.
