How long has it been since you were a Newbie?

I've just realised that I have started my 10th year on hootoo (9 years as of 2 October 2011).
I can't believe how long I've been on here (and how much I've forgotten - I wonder if it's like riding a bike in that it will all come back to me in the end).
How long have you guys been on here? There are so many new faces that I've never come across.

I was a newbie in May, 2002. I've been here a little less than 9 1/2 years.
But I still make new friends all the time around here. Just last night I had the opportunity to chat with a couple of lovely hootooers I've seen around for years but never really spoke with before.

I'm a 1999er.
Which I like, because when young whippersnappers tell me OBVIOUS stuff on Twitter I can say 'After over a decade online I have learnt a thing or two you know' in a horribly pompous way. I *think* I might have first gone online in 1998, but can't be sure. With h2g2, I know damn at least I was online by 1999.

August 2005 but there are loads of areas on site where I would still be considered a newbie because I don't know most of the stuff that goes on here.
