>>By the way, I am woefully short on sport too. What I really need is a short poem about the ballistics of Australian spin bowling.<<

Be warned.

If necessary, I will swear that I wrote that in 2001.

Ok, it's Wednesday now. I'm going to go for a final list by Friday so we have the weekend for proof-reading.

If any one can track down the missing folks, then Amy and I'll be greatful. Otherwise it's who we've got there and whoever says yes by Friday.

Ben

Malabarista - now with added pony

It's not how they're presented at the moment, but if you want every entry you use illustrated, I'm sure the photographers and CAs can do that between us!

Mala, that would be amazing. There is at least one which really needs an illustration. The others, well, it would be cool but not essential.

I still need "yeses" from

Recumbentman
minorvogonpoet
Keith MillerĀ
Shazz

I've asked in their U-Spaces, but if anyone can reach any of them directly, that would help considerably.

Here is the the provisional list....

I am sorry if your favourite entry is missing - they are in date order and If I get those three "yes"es there will be 42 of them. If not then I'll be looking for new ones: I think the only remaining omission is sport. Oh, and something from 2001.

There are only three authors featured twice - one is Deke (to really show the difference in the standard of entries over the years) - the second is h5ringer (to show different treatments of the same subject) - and the third is Frenchbean, because I really wanted her Christchurch Journal. The one that is crying out for an illustration is A950203 - Inukshuk.

The final version we use may be the Author's own not the subbed version - it depends on which subs have given us permission to use their work.

Ok. Let the stoning commence....

A126659 - Wire Hangers - Deke
A471025 - The Gentle Art of Screwing - Pheroneous
A685055 - Lies, Damned Lies, and Science Lessons - Son of Roj Blake

That Bobby Sands one deserves to be there - if for no other reason than the heart palpitations it gave the Eds at the time. If I remember correctly it was hawked all around the BBC and ended up with the legal team and the NI political editor before it got the green light months and months later.

Yeah, but I'd like another really Pin. But then something would have to make way for it.

Wanna see the illustrations? There's not many, and I am up for more.

I'm flattered to be in such august company.smiley - blush

Inukshuk was my first Edited Entry. I think it holds up well, although, if I were writing it today, I would add that an inukshuk was the symbol of the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a7/2010_Winter_Olympics_logo.svg

And I'd also add that there is a sort of compulsion in Canadians from a very young age to build the things -- out of stones beside a river or on the seashore, with chunks of snow in front of the house. For a number of years there was a very large stone one on a street corner outside a coffee shop a few blocks from here, and there was another one downtown beside the main avenue. A steel artist I know makes little welded ones that he sells as decorations.

Maybe I'll do a little update some time.smiley - smiley
