The ultimate, absolute best Christmas song
Reddy Freddy Posted Dec 22, 2010
Whilst Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt is good, Santa Baby by The Puppini Sisters is 3 times better!
Other favourites are I'm A Little Christmas Cracker by The Bouncing Czecks (yes, it's spelt like that), and The Mighty Wah's In The Bleak/Body And Soul/ Midwinter.
Sorry, can't find any yoochoobs for any of these.

Carols - Adeste Fideles. And I can't for the life of me remember what that is in English.
Christmas pop songs - Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree
er... that's it.

The Huron Carol has been a favourite of mine since childhood -- the only real Christmas song, in fact. Of course, I grew up just down the road from where Father Brebeuf wrote the thing and it was a standard in elementary school music class at Christmas time.
Personally, I think it only sounds right in Wyandot, as Brebeuf wrote it. Canadian singer Heather Dale did this version beginning in Wyandot, continuing in French and finishing in English: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6IG6F6E5Ac
For me, this is the best recording I've heard.

Been thinking of this today, and was desperate to post my next most favourite. I was beaten to it Magwitch though
Gaudette by Steeleye Span
I will add this (New Year really) sad little heartfelt number instead ;

Rockin around the Christmas tree always reminds me of Home Alone now
Pop songs it's between Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses and I believe in Father Christmas - Greg Lake.

I'm not sure why this is a Christmas carol, but it's one of my favourite songs year-round:

I thought this was a conversation about Christmas songs, but it's just a load of links to youtube that I can't follow.
I'm leaving.

I've figured that Christmas and pop don't mix. I only feel christmassy when I hear carols, like this one (Coventry Carol, Gnomon):

For light relief, here's a death metal version of Jingle Bells (maybe we can get a Facebook campaign going for next year's Xmas No 1?):

I used to think of "Snoopy's Christmas" by the Royal Guardsmen as being the tune of my choice. And then a friend performed live 2 years ago, a song written by a friend of hers who had just lost an infant. It is now my favourite of the season.

Must say I'm shocked and awed that Gnomon can't get the Utoobs.
They are the second best part of the interwebbies.
I think of them as the h-toob g-toobs.
Anyway, nobody has mentioned the one that says they never shoulda
given a driver's license to a man who drives a sleigh and plays
with elves.
