I can't remember whose was the original post, and I certainly don't remember anything even vaguely controversial. Mysteries abound these days ...

Oh, this is becoming ridiculous!
Whoever gets the email, please reply to it and ask the Mods to refer it to the h2g2 Eds for adjudication!

Ah yes. And his presence is rather sporadic, so we may not know for some time the how-come-and-why.
Perhaps someone with a little more time could start a log of these mysterious and late vanishings. So the Eds can look for any sort of abusive pattern?

has something changed here, where has the subject line gone?

Because the first post has been referred for moderation (although nobody has a clue why), it automatically wipes the title in case that was also breaking the House Rules. When the post is reinstated the title may come back too.

I wonder if sTiggy has been decloaked by TPTB.
If so it may be a post by a banned researcher...

Sorry apparently it's currently sTwiggy. Could be wrong of course but I can't see any other reason.
Not that any of his other more recent posts have been nuked from orbit.

Sorry to bring this up so long after the event, but in reference to a post of Tiggy's 5 weeks ago (use the this post is in reply to button if you want to read it)...
>>
kea: "Hoo/SoRB/Tiggy has never had a lifetime ban despite assertions that this is so."
Fascinated to find this information out, kea, thank you so much.
Where did you get it? How would you ever discover such a "fact"? Are you privy to moderation/banning emails, despite not working for the BBC or even living in the same hemisphere?
Or have you just, y'know, made it up because you think nobody would dare or be able to contradict it?
<< Tiggy
On the contrary, I'd be really happy for you to provide some evidence that you received a lifetime ban*.
But even if you have an email that has the phrase 'lifetime ban' in it, how come you're still onsite? As you well know lifetime ban used to apply to the person not the account, so new accounts started up later would also be suspended. It's not like no-one knows who you are, Eds included I'm willing to bet (haven't you written EGEs since Hoo was banned, or at least had them go through PR?).
I guess I could rephrase my original statement to say something like 'there's no such thing as a lifetime ban anymore, so Hoo/SoRB/Tiggy doesn't currently have a lifetime ban even if at one point he was told that he did (which we would have to take on faith as there's not been a lifetime ban process on h2g2 for many years).
*and I'm not trying to get at you here, it's more about how the lack of an onsite process and your resurrection renders the concept lifetime bans idiotic. We have no idea anymore who's been banned or why or who is tolerated to come back and after what time. I can understand the Eds not wanting to go through the old process, simply on the grounds of how much time would be involved, but a simpler process could have been put in place that let us, the community, know what's happened.

As has been made plain by the removal of a few of my earlier posts, discussion on-site of the details of moderations, bans or suspensions (temporary or indefinite) are not allowed or tolerated. So I don't think that you will ever get a definitive answer, Kea, if he was in fact banned and invited back, or if his return once more is merely being tolerated.
The fact that he has posted quite freely since this incarnation, and initiated PR entries, without continuous strikes suggests to me that the current management is willing to allow him room to prove himself. And probably not the reason that the original post here vanished this morning. That yet remains a mystery.

What did your recent moderation emails say Rev Nick? I've seen discussions of other bannings onsite so I don't think we're not allowed to discuss them at all.
It would be pretty easy for Tiggy to put up a copy of the banning emails offsite (assuming he still has them). I just remember one of the times he got banned there were various onsite speculations about what kind of ban it was, but nothing was ever clarified.

And there is the point ... I have had postings removed (by a sharp eye, no doubt) for even paraphrasing what the e-mails of moderation or account suspension said. Saying them again would just leave another blank post here.

I guess it comes down to if you're ok with that. Other people talk about moderation emails and it's not a problem. If you are having posts removed for talking about moderation then that's a serious issue for h2g2 and I would certainly be asking questions of the Eds about what is going on.
Can you say if the emails you've had recently have been generic ones, or ones that give an actual explanation? Was if from the h2g2 Eds or someone else? Have you asked to have the posts reinstated? There's many moderated posts that do get reinstated once queried.
Key: Complain about this post
