I can't remember what year, but the end of the digibox access I think had a big impact on numbers. Although later digibox access was available again, a lot had moved on since then, or for whatever reason, didn't return.

I can think of two off hand, one (I think) has had probelms with accesing thier account after the BBCiD sign on, and the other one had other reasons for their new account. Are you able to tell me who the other two are Sprout? If it's someone's second account, I'll delete it from list.

I've been nosing around from time to time (when the BBC lets me sign in) but I've had too much other stuff going on this year to be 'active' as such, even with the photographers group.

Emmily, what's your criteria again? I see Tiggy is listed as a new member, when he's not.

I still think it would have been better to have used the gML that showed our currently active names It's going to create confusion otherwise.

Hi kea, I have Tiggy's date as 'Created: 15th March 2010' does he have an older account that he uses?

It's a bit late to change the GuideML I think that shows another uniqueness of hootoo, that you can change your username (plus the long names would have gone to the next line and made it look untidy )

Giving my brain a rest for the weekend, will get back to working on census early next week.

Yes, Tiggy has multiple, much older accounts (he's not the only one on the list like that either). Which one you use depends on your criteria, which I'm still not clear about.

He responds when he's addressed as SoRB. I think he's the researcher with the most banned accounts, which is quite an achievement.

Indeed, I only had half a dozen shut down while banned ...

Ah, right. That is an old account(15th March 2000), but SoRB hasn't posted in that name since 23 May 2008.

I'm including Researchers who have posted since 1st June 2010.

I think the point is that Tiggy is the same person(ality) as SoRB, who was previously Hoo. For various reasons, he's created new accounts at different points in time.

Something that I have wondered about in this whole thread. Yes, a couple of us have been banned and invited to return. And because of changes and BBCiD, new numbers happen.

In reality, 'Tiggy' U14386849 is SoRB, aka Hoo, aka U114627

I was originally U673784, 24 March 04. And then circumstances were better to make me U903557 (21 Sep 04). That one died by banning and then the BBCiD, and so now I am U14581266, as of 10 Aug 10

So, who (or Hoovooloo) am I? The first, 2nd or latest?

As the title suggests, this listing is for "active" researchers so therefore logic dictates that closed/banned or a/c's showing no recent postings are, by their very nature, inactive.
Those with more than one active a/c would have the earliest one listed, but again, the operative word here is 'active'. To list all would be both confusing and inaccurate to say the least.

And there is the query ...

Is it the person that is active that counts? Or a web-site assigned number?
