Crikey Rev, that's pretty impressive if you know who's in what fan club
>>In post 350, I made it fairly clear that some people are so popular that they have their own fan clubs, or groupies.
Yes, and I didn't understand what you were getting at in that post either. Spell it out man!

Ah, the subtleties of being rude and obnoxious and getting away with it.

Right Taff...
Or use your tag and jump in right behind them in a thread where you know they will see it
As for yikes'd posting, everyone knows you don't have to be online to do that. You only need to be registered with the BBC. Therefore, anyone can yikes a posting and cause a lot of disruptions to threads, such as this one.
If Tiggy hasn't received and email, then he should contact the Eds directly and ask them why it has been removed.
Now I will go and do some ACEing, which will keep me busy and away from any disruptive influences

Kea, if I plainly spell out my history and exactly who would be more than pleased to see me gone again, then , I am off the map again. Probably not for a mere 2 years, but permanently. Do you NOW understand why I must be less then arrow-straight in some replies?

Sorry if I'm being thick but I still don't get it. The Eds are the only ones that can ban you and if they invited you back I can't see why they would ban you again.
If you mean that there are people here who you've had a feud with in the past using another ID, who would cause trouble for you, then I kind of get it, but I don't think it's a secret what your previous incarnations were so I don't fully understand.

Thank you folks, this is where I get off and find my way to bed.
See you in the morning

The first post is back. Would anyone, anyone at all, like to hazard a guess as to why it was hidden.
Note: it wasn't "referred to the community team to see whether it breaks House Rules".
It was "Removed because it [DOES] break House Rules."
Here's the email I received after the fact:
"Hi. We're not sure why this was hidden. It didn't go through our normal moderation channels, that's why you weren't sent our usual automated email, so it could be a bug. We will reinstate it now. Any idea when it was hidden? It might help with our investigations."
Just as baffled as anyone.

It was hidden shortly after post 324 was posted because the conversation popped up in my My Conversations window. A short time later I noticed a convo in there and clicked to see if there was an entertaining bunfight going on, only to discover it was just this one with post 1 missing. Most disappointing.

Interesting that posts can get hidden "permanently" (i.e. not merely referred) without going through the normal channels. Not something I've heard of happening before. Anyone?

Proving a point perhaps, posts 337, 350, 354, 360 and 364 are all now hidden. All belonging to Rev Nick.

lil, someone, anyone, please explain why it is necessary to even hide blocks of posts after the fact like that, though? What's going on? Is it some automatic thing or is a person doing it?

Hyp,
In the past similar has happened to me. Some yikesings were upheld, and others returned in full.
Nick makes himself a target by repeatedly going on about his banning. He is yet to understand that it was the Eds who banned him, and they wouldn't have done that without proof of his behaviour online.
Why he cannot count his blessings at being allowed back - without playing the martyr, or complaining about 'volunteer badges', 'friends' or 'fan clubs' - is beyond me. His misdemeanours are in the past, he should forget them and enjoy what he's got in H2G2.
Sorry, it's teatime now.. but I shall be back later

With the matter of the original post being resolved, we return you to your regular broadcast of "Who is still around these days?"
Of note, I did see a brief appearance by Footbacon (U235904) just 2 days ago, after perhaps a couple of years hiatus.

Well, I had a post hidden and an email the other day. I was very upset and wrote a journal, which was then yikesed because I quoted the moderation email. I never knew it wasn't allowed.
Anyway, turned out the email was sent by mistake.
Key: Complain about this post
