Yep Taff, I thought your post 340 was brilliant. True and sort of poignant. But it was clearly wasted on AB..but not on me.
(I do like you. )

Clearly he's conned you Effers - He has every other week off.

What business is that of yours? Seriously?
Both Taff and Mrs Taff are working, they're making sure their kids are well-looked after, and they're paying their taxes.
Apart from making you come across as a horrible, spiteful old man, how do Taff's working patterns affect you in any way?

There's a cut fot you, AB. Do away with Prison Officers. Open the doors and let the prisoners out. *Big* saving there.
Happy?
Or might some public services be useful?

Two names that really is stupid. Way beyond my suggestion to put public sector workers on short term contracts, 'stats' for illegibility to vote, benefits paid with plastic, ration books, British restaurants, keeping kids at school so that they must work until they are 70. etc
You have a point though there is a lot of money wasted putting criminals up in 5 star accommodation.
Schools out so we shall soon have the full team.
What do you guys think about having a leader who left school at 15.
Good Morning HonestIago. Why aren't you pushing kids through to University and beyond.
He who casts the first stone should not live in a glass house.
Have you time to read the thread or do you just think here's that stupid horrible, spiteful old man again let's have a go at him.
Keep 'em coming. It keeps me young.
Sticks and stones, eh! Two names.

Either you've never seen inside a prison...or you've stayed in some lousy hotels.
Interesting to see you advocating a strict central planning, mind. Stalinism lives in the heart of AB.

We could look at who we send to prison and why though.
There are a great deal of people in prison who frankly shouldn't be. Putting the mentally ill in a cell is insane.
On the other hand we let thugs walk free with fines.
It's something that really should be re-assessed.

Oh, absolutely.
Imagine AB's reaction when I say we probably need fewer Prison Officers and more Social Workers, Community Workers and Community Psychiatic Nurses.
If we want to look at the bottom line...they'd be a lot cheaper. Probably a lot cheaper than a massive, state run chain of National Restaurants, etc. etc.

Oh I doubt I'd send any less people to prison It would just be different people.
Criminals in prison, the mentally ill in hospitals would work for me.

*All* criminals in prison? That would be awfully expensive. Far more sensible to try and convert a portion of them into wage-earning, tax-paying net contributors to society, surely? And some of that is going to have to mean working with offenders in the real world, as well as/ in addition to the closed environment of a prison.
Ditto *all* the mentally ill in hospitals?

Why don't we, as was suggested on Genius, get cons to pedal exercise bikes wired to the National Grid? Keeps them fit, helps them contribute to society and reduces emissions.

So long as they keep the bikes nailed down. I've visions of them cycling off.

There are certain criminals who should be given training in bomb disposal. Re-offenders in this category could then be given work experience.
The first cut has been made without too much trouble. What chance of such smooth progress when the other players Unite ?
PS. Two names. You imply that you have been inside and use lousy hotels.
Obviously you never used a ' British Restaurant '. No jibes please they were born out of a true necessity.
Key: Complain about this post
