Something must be cached somewhere - changing skins has no effect.

To Ed the not Bonobo - have you tried signing in using your email address rather than your user name? I was given that option, but didn't use it, so don't know how it works.

Not the monkey - Skreeeeeeeeeeeee

Tried. Doesn't work.

To add complications...at some point in the process I was sent to an old-style password reset page. So now I don't know whether to use my new or old password. And resetting involves replying to an address I can't access.

There's also a method that involves answering a secret question. I did that - but still no joy.

But the fundamental issue is...I have no idea why it rejected my username during the Upgrade bit in the first place.

Either way, you are likely to have been locked out now.

You will have to wait for it to unlock (about 30 mins) smiley - erm

Have you tried contacting h2g2.support @ the usual address?

Your sign-in might be slightly different to how you remember it if you've been using the pc to remember you.

Yeah...I guess I'll contact them. My sign-in was right, though.

I survived...

Oddly, I went into my preferences just now to alter my tagline, then once done, I pressed the "Back" button at the bottom of the preferences page... and it took me to a completely random conversation! Bizarre...

I think all this fuzz has sent bad vibrations all over... The Lair Cats are behaving erratically... Maybe 2legs is to be blamed...

first you have to find out if 2 legs survived.
I survived. It popped up a list of rules I said I agree
and it accepted me. No problems since.
