Can you take your profanity filter testing elsewhere, please? This thread is to help people upgrade to the new login system.

I agree, Gnomon - the new system needs *constructive* conversation.
As I have already said, I had absolutely no problems with the new system.
Unless the member has a particular set of circumstances, such as the way their original login name is spelled, or they use a digibox, or they have multiple accounts using one email address, then they should not have any problems whatsoever.
If they do, then this conversation should set out to help them.

Good luck here.

I assume we've seen the last of the Eds/BBC staff in this thread so I'll be unsubscribing. If one comes back and looks like it might say something important, please give me a nudge!

A digibox-specific question was asked separately and has been answered.

Venus gave the correct answer at post 16 of that thread.
Also, as digi-box users seem to only be able to read us in Plain, it is my belief that this skin will not be supported after the change over, so there really wouldn't any point in pursuing it further.
I'm sure there will be someone to tell me different if I am wrong

Vip Posted Nov 7, 2009
Well, Plain has never been supported so us Plain users may not notice the difference!
Vip - currently posting through her Wii. Not something she would like to on a regular basis though - far too slow!

Plain is not supported for the upgrades of recent years, but it still works. When the new skin comes in I'm assuming that none of the current ones will work.
Isn't there a page of the new h2g2 somewhere, the FP? Can digiboxes read that ok?
