Ahh, I figured she was just putting on her clothes normally. Still an ad showing a woman picking up her clothes, going "this smells nice", putting it on and going out the door wouldn´t sell anything or tell you what it was about.

I'd like to see an ad that shows a woman putting on her clothes. I'd probably start to lose interest after the first two items, though.

aw the latest Lynx ad last night - in the spray more/get more series. I wonder how they can actually get away with making such a bold statement. Still, hubby enjoy seeing all those women running about in bikinis so not all bad.
And don't knock the Formby until you've tried it - miles easier then using the grill. I didn't even know who George Foreman was before, so it seems like an odd tie-in, a lot less off-putting that AWT!
As for Ainsley Harriet - he often puts me off wanting to buy things that might actually be useful/good.

Possibly stupid of me but Howard has successfully prevented me switching my account to Halifax. I cannot support crimes against music, even if I didn't think much of the music in the first place.
Mind you, when it comes to banks they're all as bad as each other, they just take turns in being worst.

I wrote a letter to my bank yesterday threatening to leave them....on the at first superficial grounds that they'd mis-spelled "lodgment" on a printed sign.
But, as I pointed out, aside from the lack of proof-reading, did no member of the bank staff spot the error? If so, did they not point it out? If not , why not? Did they know their comments would be ignored? Do I really trust my money to an organisation like that?

I regularly make consumer choices based on grammar. I recently passed a place that, among other things, prepare CVs. On their front door there was a sign saying 'We help with CV's!'
Maybe not the best way to attract custom...

twhile punter of such establishments.
OK, maybe a tad tenuous!

I can't stand them either, and with English being my second language, I think I spot them more easily. But when people totally miss an integral letter in a word, it gets me thinking...

I remembered one from some time ago, but it wasn´t on TV. I was at the Next shop in Cork, Ireland. A rather decent clothes store. They had ads hanging all over the store for their homepage, where it told they had bigger selection and you could order all you wanted. Then whe you get to the homepage, it informs you that they do not ship outside of the UK. So those people in Ireland can´t buy there anyway.

Well, ship it to Belfast and I'll come for it... That sounds like fun. What's with not shipping to Ireland, anyway? I never got that.

Belfast may not be the answer either - I've lost count of the times I've ordered something only to be told at the last minute "Sorry, we don't ship to NI"

Current annoying ad?
Scholl party feet.
Gel cushions for ladies with sore feet after wearing high heels.
Easy Solution?
BUY SHOES THAT FIT! How damn hard is that?
And that really annoying kid doing the Asda "It's Christmas!" - A la Noddy Holder. I just want to smash his little teeth in.
Also that really annoying ad for Lynx where the guy is on the beach and women are running at him from every direction.
They really didn't steal that idea from Monty Python did they?
And all the women are tall, leggy and have long hair.
Where are the short birds? The busty girls? The fat girls?
A very annoying advert and not an original idea either.

Following up on the "lodgement" issue:
I recently called into the city centre branch: their equivalent sign said "lodgement", as did their fast envelopes, as did a leaflet extoling their services.
Thence the letter from the manager I've got, saying "Oh we've lways spelled it "lodgment" is blatantly untrue, and I have great pleasure in moving my large bank balance elsewhere!
Note: bank balance is not usually large, but I'm enjoying it while I have it!

I just channel hopped past an advert for some Loreal gunk. At the end it said the gunk is 'recognised by the British Skin Foundation'.
Guess who one of The British Skin Foundation's 'corporate partners' are?
Go on, have a guess...

I should probably provide a source for that!
