Yasmina sold crap on more than one occasion with as much enthusiasm as if she was selling good stuff. In my opinion, that's why she won. Quality didn't matter, so long as people bought it *thinking it was quality.

Perfect for the sort of business environment she's going into.

On a lighter note, go to youtube and search for 'cassette boy Vs the bloody apprentice'. It's about 6 minutes of very good editing, although some of it is a little... blue.

What I love best is that it's probably barely more edited than the sow itsef, though smiley - smiley Go on, have a giggle!

I thought Kate was pretty bad to be honest - what planet was she on, thinking chocolates would sell at £13 for just 18 chocs? And she was robotic: her presentation could have been delivered by the speaking clock.

Yasmina was much, much better even if some of her chocolate choices sounded vile - strawberry and basil? smiley - yuk! Her presentation was better, her advert was better and her prices were realistic.

And I disagree, the best people weren't in the final. Kate shouldn't have been there, James should have.

Also, note how a woman has only won The Apprentice when it's been an all-woman final. I'm not making any judgement - I think the most capable person in the series won it, just pointing out the facts.

Err yes so what's your point? Women can only win when there's an all women final? There was a conspiracy to get a woman to win this year? Personally what sex or colour someone is...never even registers for me.

As for James, IMO he was an utter numpty.

Morning allsmiley - smiley

I was *so* disappointed with (& for) Kate in the final. Yasmina definitely put in a much better all round performance, even if the chocs were err...different.

funky gibbon - I'd have lost the sweepie on that again. Well done smiley - biggrin

I'd say it was profoundly uncurious because the programme hasn't been running enough years yet for the sample size to be meaningful. If in another 10 years or so the same pattern kept repeating itself I'd say then it might be a point worth noting.

I'm fairly unimpressed with your point HI, and doubt you'd be saying the same thing if 'race' was involved. But oh yes it's all too easy to make barbed remarks where women are concerned. They are easy meat.

Sir Al actually said he thought they were the best two finalists he'd ever had...I doubt he'd have gone that far if it was all just some stupid conspiracy to get a female to win.

Well, let's get the nasty accusation of hypocrisy out of the way first. I don't need to comment on race, because the first person to win it was a black guy, the current champion is half Persian and people of all different backgrounds do well.

And yes, as a manly misogynistic man, I of course consider women an easy shot. Because I'm always attacking and ridiculing women.

Swallen talks a lot of crap and I saw his "oh, you're both so wonderful" spiel as part of it. There is no way that Kate was anywhere near as good as Kristina, as the Badger, as Tim, as Raef or about half a dozen other candidates. Yasmina was good, but I don't she was the best we've seen.

Honestly Effers, back off and stop trying to paint me as something I'm not.

I'm just arguing with you on what you post HI;

>There was no way - no way - they were going to let a man win it 4 times out of 5. Given that the one woman to win it thus far was an absolute train wreck of an employee (that'll learn him not to employ the Badger), they were always going to have a woman winning it this time around. Could you imagine the grief that would have been stirred up otherwise?<
(post 122)

I think that's rubbish. What on earth has someone's sex to do with it? I, along with everyone else I know, couldn't care less or even think about the sex of the winner, its about the best person on the show. But from what you have posted you appear to suggest that sexual politics go to the heart of it.

And I say you're talking beaulocks smiley - tongueout

I saw a pattern and I called it. Though Swallen has gotten into trouble for seeming to be anti-women on a couple of occasions, notably when he asked that Katy Hopkins... thing what her childcare arrangements were, without asking any of the guys the same question. It does make me wonder whether he does have some unreconstructed views.

It's also worth noticing how much hay was made out of the all-woman final on the Beeb in general. They didn't do that when it was the Badger against Michelle.

But the final would have been a hell of a lot more fun if dark devilish Debra had taken part against blond angelic Kate...which I think gives the lie to the idea that its all just aimed at audience figures.
