Life's Little Victories...
Malabarista - now with added pony Posted Sep 25, 2009
And today's little victory (which I was originally going to post and forgot about )
When I was in the supermarket yesterday, I found chocolates of the type my evil stepmother used to buy and always kept all to herself.
I bought some to try. They were - now I know that I didn't miss much

I found a blog dedicated to a similar subject - it's called 'It Made My Day'. I'm at w*rk so I don't have the address, but I daresay a Google search would find it.
I was particularly entertained by the woman whose day was made when her ex-husband, who left her for another man, found himself dumped by his male partner so said man could be with a woman.

Not today´s victory, but this year´s...I was a croupier for 25 years, and people meeting me in the supermarket tell me they don´t gamble anymore because younger croupiers don´t have the style

Got a new housemate sorted in record time!
(She's Brazilian and so far seems reasonably on my wavelength - slightly excited to get to know her!)

My little victory isn´t achieved completely, and I doubt if I ever will, but I think I´ve started to work on it: I´ve realised that there is a preview button that I should press oftener to check if my posts sound too preachy, verbose, pedant, irrelevant... It´s a pity I realise that after I´ve posted.
My online persona is in the process of maturity. I hope.
Now I´m having doubts about this post, don´t want to sound I´m asking for positive feedback, I well know sometimes my posts are as I´ve said. I just feel the need to say that I know it, and that I don´t feel comfortable with the idea people may have about me because of my clumsy words.
Maybe my next little victory will happen when I start to have social relationships out of here. Since more than a year ago I haven´t been able to go out and relationate as anyone else. That affects self-esteem.
Maybe I give too much importance to the negative instead of focusing on the positive.

We all make mistakes sometimes, but, by and large, h2g2 is a forgiving community as long as you try not to do them all the time. You seem to do that so you're okay by me.

thanks people
and to be relevant to this thread,
my little victory of today is that I´ve walked a bit more than yesterday and my leg isn´t complaining much!

Your posts are very welcome, Mar, as they bring a new viewpoint to things.
I've got a white shirt on today and have spilt my dinner on the front in the middle. No victory here, then.

I had a very small victory yesterday... i did an irrelevant quiz on facebook. It told me the theme tune to my life is Search and Destroy by Metallica.
I can roll with that.

Well... I have a list of little victories if that's OK.
1. Still alive and in one piece (physically at least).
2. Got shortlisted for a new job. Mustn't panic about the interview on 13 October .
3. Didn't fall apart when I thought I'd lost my house keys yesterday (major achievement after last weekend when I unravelled for a trivial reason ). I was rational and systematic and found them again .
All in all on the slow road to becoming the me I want to be and always was.

Well done mate! Small steps and before you know it, you're only falling apart occasionally and when it's perfectly justified!!!
