Why doesn't anybody know where cumbria is??
HonestIago Posted Nov 20, 2004
A friend comes from Ellesmere Port (well, Little Sutton) and its usually the first thing she tells people once she's told them where she's from
Why doesn't anybody know where cumbria is??
I am Donald Sutherland Posted Nov 20, 2004
I live in Little Sutton as well and its not something I have heard, and even if I had, I don't think I would brag about it.
There are other claims to infamy that Ellesmere Port can make but I don't think teenage pregnancies is one of them.

Thatcher, I blame Thatcher.
Post codes are no clue anyway, take this town, 'WAnn' Warrington (Cheshire) and 'Lnn' Liverpool (Merseyside). Yet the address of Lancashire with no post code works just fine.
Heard of Peter Kay, from Bolton? Does he sound like Oais? Yet Greater Manchester claims them both. Non of these made-up counties took the 'character' of the town into consideration... Wigan in with Manchester?
Sausages! Still Cumberland sausages, not Cumbria sausage, or have they been made EU illegal yet for a) being British, b) having taste b) not exactly matching the name of the region they come from c) Not being French or German?
and \/ to them!

All these places mean nothing to me, other than places with DX adresses. Northumberland once extended all the way to the way to the river Humber but now Humberside, Cleveland, County Durham and Tyne & Wear block the way. So I presume Cumberland is similar story!!!

Mu Beta Posted Nov 21, 2004
Humberside definitely no longer exists.
It is kept only as a vague memory by the police and the boy scout movement.
No jokes comparing the two please.

County Durham has been around since the Middle Ages so its been blocking the way almost as long as Northumberland has existed

Cumberland Wrestling. It's similar in style to Japanese Sumo.
