The only fascination I can see for Andromeda is to play count the cliches.

Oh yes I am and I do find dear Kevin atractive but terrible dialogue is too much of a pain to inflict on anyone.I suppose I could watch with the sound off.

Ah, good to know I've contributed a lasting conversation topic...
I've missed all the subsequent episodes of Andromeda since that first I mentioned, so many days ago...
How's everybody been? I've missed you all! I hope to spend some quality time Monday morning updating my space...then everyone will know what a select few of you now know...he-he.
Cryptically yours,
Paladin

My attention began to wander in the last episode and then with really neat timing they got Kevin to take his kit off.Didn't last long enough though. My attention began to wander again.

All I know is there is a real shortage of naked men on tv.Theres plenty of naked women but hardly any men.BOO,HISS!

Freaky Cheeze Posted Nov 10, 2000
BOOOOOOOOO HISSSSSSSSS in deed. Please, there is way tooooo much of the naked womeness and not enough young naked good looking men on TV. There is one show that is trying to guage the female audience... its Now and Again, oooh the guy on that is tooo fine and he regularly takes off his shirt...good enough, but he could go all the way...id be a very happy camper.

Star Trek - "It's worse than that, it's dead, Jim?"

We need to see something new in Star Trek. I think that they made a mistake to place DS9 and Voyager in roughly the same time as TNG. It was one of the great things about the original series and TNG that we didn't know too much about the universe in which the adventures took place. Each episode helped us to form a picture of the Star Trek universe. When DS9 appeared, we already knew much about the alien races, the political situation, the technlogy and so on. The new series didn't add much to that, so it was less interesting. With Voyager they made a step in the right direction, but there are too few really original ideas. There are only very few interesting new species (Krenim, Hirogen, Vidiaans, Species 8472) in Voyager, although almost each episode shows a new alien race.
For a new Star Trek series I would strongly recommend that it takes place either some 50-100 years in the past or in the future.

I heard that the powers that be were thinking of using star fleet academy as the location of the next Star Trek series. Not sure whether that's such a good idea. Might be too much like a future version of an Aaron Spelling production. Not Good

There is a new series of books out.. New Frontier with new characters, new ship, new aliens, new friends, new cast, pulling a few obscure guests from previous shows, but like i said, they're books. great books, all written by Peter David instead of thirty different authors. i've been following it from it's inception and eagerly awaiting the new book this month. I've wondered alot whether i would enjoy this as a series, and i'm thinking i would.
also, jumping another couple of generations in the future would help, maybe fast forward through the whole borg thing and just read the ending, like the klingon thing with TOS, eighty years later they had changed without us having to watch evolution. do the same thing with borg, or the romulans again. the next-next generation with all new people and a new captain, someone gutsy and with a healthy disregard for authority (like good 'ol Kirk). Start over, go in a different direction again. i'd watch.

Well I've moved on to The Lexx and I can't wait for series 4 to arrive on the SC-fi channel.

Ah! the Lexx.
Has the heroine changed since the first seies?
She seems to be identical in every respect (and you can see almost all of her respects) apart from her face.

The original all the way! The newer series just lost site of the themes behind star trek - without them it's just another one of your typical psuedo-scifi (if it doesn't make some sort of sociopolitical or philosophical comment then it ain't scifi in my books)
