The flying ant haggis monster is most definitely *not* vegetarian. That word is banned in our church.

Any god and religion, Taff. I should have put "god(s)" in the title and not used capitals.
Okay, the food topic drift is somewhat amusing. However, the bible discussion is not. There are plenty of god discussion threads going on around here for you to play on - this is not one of them.
Thank you.

Oh, that was a general 'you' in that last sentence, Taff, not specifically directed at you.

My main objection to religion? It's not based around everyone giving me things I want and expecting nothing in return...

For some of the items on my list, it may be argued, 'Ah! But that's not what *my* god/religion is like!'
In fact, in some cases, the argument will be 'Ah! But *true* followers of my god/religion aren't like that!'.
Fair enough. Soe of my points are tendencies, not absolutes, However...
24) Religions observably do not provide their adherents with the reliable, unambiguous guidance that they pretend.
25) Adherence to religious guidance is obsevably an insufficient basis for morality. All adherents, whether they admit it or not, apply their secular interpretations to teachings.
26) The argument that true religion is, by definition, that which is good and moral is circular and meaningless.
27) Religious believers seldom take responsibility for what they regard as misinterpretations of their religion by coreligionists.

Don't bottle it up, Ed. Share it with us. You'll feel better in the end.
He's going to get a Jim Lynn warning for a denial of service attack on bbc.co.uk in a minute.

(Looking rather nervously at my predicted upper limit on the Bonobo list and trying to distract Ed)
Vegetarian haggis? Is it made from carrots' lungs?
I love haggis and black pudding - but white pudding is a vile abomination upon the Earth.

Presumably white pudding also carries a BSE risk.
I was given one of these, Christmas before last:

I once met a woman who for years laboured under the blissful delusion that white puddings were vegetarian.

Surely there's no need for any further items after Christian Rock? Case closed, no?

Can I just say in its defence that 'Devil Woman' and 'Wired for Sound' were actually not all that bad.
She's just a devil woman...

Not all that bad?! Not all that bad?!!!!!!! Clearly it's not just the religious who have difficulties distinguishing bad from good. Cliff Richards met the at the crossroads and backed out of the deal!
On the other hand...for some decent Christian Rock'n'Roll (The 'n'Roll bit is important)...rundon'twalk to YouTube and type in 'Sister Rosetta Tharpe'. *That's* what I call a joyous noise unto the lord!

'Anyone else old enough to remember pressure cookers?'
You do realize that these items are still readily available and widely used, don't you? I have one myself.

Perception is nine tenths of the human delusion. The rest of the universe does quite well without our contributions and will continue to do so. Objections to God/Religion is a waste of time and a convenient deversion from energies we as humans might put our collective thoughts towards. So my question is; as a group why do we expend so much time, resources both material and emotional on a question that is only a human belief, whim, or wishful thinking and has no reality outside of our own limited selves?
