I find it distressing that a notion as seemingly meaningless as 'views per word' is considered a worthy contribution to the evolving betterment of our species. It has a kinda commie/fascist ring to it.
It's also a flagrant contradiction of the old fave that a picture is worth 1000 of the aforementioned words.
If a picture really is worth a thousand, is it possible that a view would be worth a million? Or maybe it's only 1/1000. Perspective is obviously an issue. But the bird is still the word.

"The famous Hollywood sign that for decades has marked the centre of the film-making world has been saved from demolition following a last-minute donation from porn baron Hugh Hefner."
He contributed $900k to the $12.5m campaign to save it.
I bet he chooses to sponsor the 'Y'. Can't wait to see what he does with it

Beware of Greeks bearing gilts
"
When ratings agencies downgrade the country's credit rating - it means they think it is now a riskier place to invest. If it reaches junk status, a country loses its investment grade status. Some financial institutions have rules prohibiting them from investing in "junk" bonds.
"
That's the way to do it. Help 'em by warning away the money!

Bid to ban "Tintin in the Congo" album.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8648031.stm
Yes, it is offensive.
Yes, it shows racist prejudices.
And YES it does reflect what most white people thought at the time.
And no, comic books (and fiction in general) are not *reference* books.
Any volunteers to demand a ban on "Around the World in 80 days" for being prejudiced against American Indians?

A man who thought he was sailing along the coast of southern England had to be rescued by emergency services after his motor boat ran out of fuel while repeatedly circling a small island in the River Thames estuary.

No-one could be that stupid and still know how to breathe.
You'd notice that you'd sailed under the same bridge and past the same port repeatedly, and through the same narrow channel dividing it from the rest of Kent, surely?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/art/art-features/7623851/Tate-Modern-a-symbol-of-Britain-as-it-would-like-to-be.html
'..Tate Modern shows the way. In the absence of gods, we are still left with values we want to celebrate and venerate through buildings. There remains a role for marking off a piece of the ground and designating it as being, in the loosest sense, a holy site, valuable rather than supernaturally blessed. This is what Tate Modern has, quietly and almost as if by accident, become: a temple to the best of our contemporary selves.'
I concur. I absolutely love it.
