The American Theocracy is arming up for the Last Crusade. (This is part of why I reject religion.)

Tom Tancredo is a fool's fool...
(chorus)
you can chase down all your enemies
bring them to their knees
you can bomb the world to pieces
but you can't bomb it into peace
....
fight terrorists wherever they be found
but why you not bombing Tim McVeigh's hometown?

I like that ... McVeigh bombed MY hometown, so ... OK, nevermind ...
Hopefully, Tancredo is just a loud mouth religionist with no shot of getting elected. Unfortunately, the current Pentagon seems to have some of the same ideas: " ... there is real confusion in high ranks of the military regarding armed service's secular status."

P.S. Tancredo is an Evangelical Presbyterian, whose 7th "Essential of Faith" reads in part: "The Lord Jesus Christ commands all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of all nations." Bomb Mecca, interesting way to make disciples ...

I have to say I am quite stunned that these people are not being provided for by the German govt. Given that compensation is paid to people for the emotional trauma of being called names, the £10 a week on offer is lamentable.

I'm usually of the opinion that the people that think we're being paranoid about the paranoia taht we may, or may not, be being told to be paranoid about, but this is a scary development.
I'm not too bothered about the US (they got what they elected) but I'm worried that where GWB goes GB might follow. Hopefully GB is strong enough to tell GWB where to stick his phone taps.

The ages of the protagonists is somewhat worrying - as is the lack of comment about it in the article.

>> I just noticed 'Britain's No.1 quality newspaper website' at the top left of The Telegraph's site. I'm not disputing it but it's odd that it doesn't link to something to back the claim up! <<
It's a really boring "We sell more newspapers than anyone else" reason.
Just to clear that up.
