'Firms pull Facebook ads after link with BNP material'
http://media.guardian.co.uk/site/story/0,,2140738,00.html
This raises a couple of points:
1) Surely anybody using Facebook will realise that the advertising is cycled and doesn't imply endorsement for any particular group who's page it pops up on.
2) Would the advertising have been pulled when it popped up on a different party's website? The BNP *are* a legitimate political party, albeit one that many find distasteful.

Sad as this is, I can't help feeling that it's Darwinism at work.

I just noticed 'Britain's No.1 quality newspaper website' at the top left of The Telegraph's site. I'm not disputing it but it's odd that it doesn't link to something to back the claim up!

I'm going to dispute that claim. The remote-controlled robots used by army bomb disposal in Northern Ireland in the 80s/90s was equipped with a shotgun.

Crikey. I've logged back in with the mobile for this so excuse any typos!
It appears that, following the events of Post 2025, lots of companies are reviewing their Facebook advertising.
I'm worried that this could lead to Facebook banning the BNP. I'm not a fan of the BNP but, if that happened, wouldn't that be advertisers *directly* causing political censorship?
My thumbs hurt.

Here in North America, speaking the other language isn't that tough. "Dos cerveza" is about it. Also, I found phrase books a big help, I bought one on a trip to London.
"Starting the final day on 10-0 needing just 73 to win the second Test, India were cruising before Tremlett dismissed Wasim Jaffer and Dinesh Karthik. Tremlett then bowled a snorter at Sachin Tendulkar to have him caught at short leg nine runs from their target. But four byes finally took the tourists to victory ..."
I closed the phrase book and just cheered when everybody else did ...
P.S. Apparently it works the other way, too:

Police in Belgium say they are taking seriously a possible sighting of a girl fitting the description of missing Madeleine McCann
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6929467.stm
"Police said results from DNA tests on the drinks bottle removed from the restaurant were expected next week".
Now that will be extremely interesting to hear.

Ok lets re-post it without the explitive before the last word of the post.
More Madeline McCann stuff.
Police in Portugal have renewed their search of the home of 33-year-old Briton Robert Murat
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6931159.stm
Also, would people really take a girl to a restaurant who they, presumably!, know has been abducting and is on every possibly media outlet all the time?

The Edinburgh Festival is being controversial again then -
http://www.jihad-the-musical.com/creativeteam/
"Featuring songs such as 'I wanna be like Osama' and the love ballad 'I Only See Your Eyes', JIHAD THE MUSICAL is a madcap gallop through the wacky world of international terrorism; one that puts the powers that be in their place, and that invokes the Blitz spirit that we must laugh at those who seek to intimidate us. Stand back! This is a high-kicking chorus line!"
Now that's one show I would stage manage for free
