Time to step up...
Teasswill Posted Nov 12, 2007
This thread has also spurred me on to work on an entry I've had brewing at the back of my mind for some time.
I'm still wary though, of entries for entries' sake. I think it's getting increasingly harder to find topics not already covered in the guide (though some could well be updated/improved)/ not well covered elsewhere on the internet (without potential for a different approach).

Nobody wants that we write entries for entries' sake.
I'm constantly amazed to find find huge gaps in the guide. I don't mind if somebody else has written about some topic somewhere else on the internet, we are in the position to write things better - because we have Peer Review.

Blackberry Cat , if one wishes to remain an individual in the midst of the teeming multitudes, one must make oneself grotesque Posted Nov 12, 2007
Entries that I'm thinking of:
Simon de Montfort, Leader of the Barons Revolt
John Batchelor, The Friend of Freedom
Something on the Mexican Revolution - possibly enough there for a University project
Emily Hobhouse, Welfare Campaigner & Suffragette
Rewrite of the existing entry on Owain Glendwr
Well those are the ones I've been researching. All probably very dry and factual

Malabarista - now with added pony Posted Nov 12, 2007
Might be time to update the webcomics one, too - the author seems to have gone missing, and a lot has happened between 2004 and now Some of the strips are no longer running, and there are some wonderful newcomers...
Plus maybe add a section on how to start your own, I'm in the process of that so maybe I'll amend it

I'm not really here Posted Nov 12, 2007
"why aren't they moved out of the FM when this happens - just to save time."
Because sometimes they don't get as far as the Front Page. When I rescued 'Tampons' it had already been rescued by another Researcher and sort of semi abandoned. If it hadn't been left in FM I never would have seen it.
People should post on the thread (although I think I forgot to do that with some of my recent rescues), so if something's been posted to recently it's likely to have been picked up by someone.
Key: Complain about this post
