Why are guys guys? II : the revenge.
Rat Posted Feb 28, 2000
Okay, well let me start off by saying that everything(well nearly everything) has been settled with the ex. We have decided not to go out again, which is good cause I really didnt feel like doing that again. I was looking at him before we had our little discussion and I got so scared, like what would happen if he said sure lets go out. I feel a little hurt but that was for like three seconds and then I was like, whatever, time to get on with my life. Yea. So I guess Iodine didnt havc to do a damn thing. Unfortunately, my ex had to say"we shouldnt think about going out again now" meaning one day he may change his mind. Idiot. I am not waiting for him. Besides, things are working out better now that we are friends.
Greyrose, goodluck! You may be waiting a while for a response, and when it comes, be sure to let me know. When I get home(at Iodines now) I may start a new forum.
Out of curiosity, why is this called why guys are guys II: the revenge? Whom are we getting revenge on and can I help?

It's just a joke about sequals. A friend of mine wrote a book of poetry making fun of Jewel's book and called it, A Night Without Armor 2: The Revenge. I thought it was funny. The next one could be Why are guys guys? 3: son of why are guys guys.
I'm glad that you decided not to get back with your ex. He may not have any intentions of getting back together either, but just said that whole 'right now' to make things easier. It's really stupid, but sometimes people feel the need to say dumb s*** because they think they're going to hurt someone's feelings.
Like how a friend of mine said that if someone says that they don't know if they like you it means that they don't, but don't want to have to say it. I hope that The Boy doesn't mean that. I told him that my friend said that and he said that that wasn't it. I hope it's true, and I can't see why not, because if he didn't like me he wouldn't want to drag things out. Maybe it's just my low self-esteem that makes me think these things.

GreyRose; I think you should give him two weeks, then arrange for P'hul to give him a frontal lobotomy (you should never do that sort of thing yourself). That will put an end to all that 'conflicted' bulls**t.

Actually, I know for a fact that my ex still loves me. I am not trying to be conceited, but he has told me and the reason we are not going out is due to our own problems and just the fact that we seem to fight so much. We need to work on things a bit more, and staying best friends like we were may solve the problem. I hope so, cause we sure fight about the dumbest things. When he said not now, I questioned him, asking him what he meant. I told him he should give me a definate response on how he feels so I can get on with my life and not second guess what could have been. He got kinda irratated and said he doesnt know how he will feel about going out in the future, and cant give me a permanent decision. Kinda aggravating, since I want to finally get over the guy without thinking he likes me and still may want to go out. So I will ignore it. Its probably for the best, I think, and I am glad you think so too.
You are right about the sequel thing(doh) and I think I will make it when guys are guys III: the next generation. Nah, too corny... well, I'll see. We have to know what the hell is up with that guy someday, right?

As for Jewel's book of poetry, that book really SUCKED. Read it, and I was really disgusted. She is the perfect reason why I stick to good old Nine Inch Nails! People like that have no right to write such crap! Anyway, also posting to say I have started a new forum, not a continuation just yet(tomorrow, maybe) but this one sounds good to me. Its the one called 101 ways to make someone suffer. I think its time to get some aggression out....

I can't say that I've ever had the urge to subject myself to the sap of popular culture. It's really un-nerving what the majority tends to appreciate, the tasteless flock of sheep that they are.

If you hated Jewel's book, you will love my friend's. He wrote poems to go with the title's of the peoms in her book. He wrote it in like four hours. It's really funny. You should be able to get it. It's called Night Without Armor 2: the Revenge by Beau Sia. Actually, he was living in NY the last time I heard.
And, jb, I think you're right and I should give him two weeks. I already decided I wasn't going to ask him about all this when I see him this week. Except tell him to call me if he wants to talk (good idea, or not?). But hopefully by the week after that, he will have figured things out.

Ozman Posted Feb 29, 2000
Telling him to call if he wants to talk: good thing or not? Okay, I've got two scenarios in my head here.
1. He sees it as showing that you really care and want to work things out.
2. He sees it as pressure being applied to make him come to a decision quickly.
I wish I could get inside this guy's head and see which way he'll jump. My guess is...ah jeez I don't know. It really depends on so many things. Can anyone else help out here?
No, come to think of it, I wouldn't tell him to call if I were you. You've done the vast majority of the work so far, let him do some.

Yeah, I probably won't tell him to call. But, I don't know.
I wish I could get inside his head too. Everyone I talk to thinks the same thing, that he's scared. I wish I knew a way to make him not be scared. But, I can't think of a good way.

If you go inside his head, how would you ever get out? Then what would you do?! Ahhhh!!!

You don't want to go inside anyone's head. Trust me, it's unpleasant in there.

jbliqemp... Posted Mar 1, 2000
Well, I ment a physical sence. Either way though, rather icky.
What's in/on a guy's mind/brain:
Sex
Debauchery
Video Games
Food
Whatever intellectual/other projects
the guy has with the end product
objective being to get:
Sex
Video Games
Food
Debauchery is more like something you give; it's our sharing side. Therefor, it is not one of the goals of our intellectual projects. It *is* an intellectual project, the goal being to sow discord and whichever one of the 'seven deadly sins' that happens to be our favorite at the time. Work in progress.
This was ment as satire. Just that.
So, anyone for a deep-fried cholesterol burger, with a side of greed, lust, and some terribly lazy habits?

I'm in a hurry now, so I can't say much, but my nerves are starting to get the better of me. I need some support, 19 hours to go.

Chamomile tea? It's an antispasmodic, it's supposed to calm you down (it also helps you sleep, if you drink it when you're tired but can't; it won't put you to sleep though). German chamomile is better than American, but they both do the same thing.
Oh, well. Enough with nervousness. How can I help?

I'd love a cholesterol burger. Could I get a side of lard-fried bacon with that? And maybe a copy of "Death-Kill 17: The Game" with my Happy Meal?

turtle Posted Mar 2, 2000
Turtle here, reporting for duty! Heh. GreyRose, I've actually been keeping up to date on this thread, but hadn't had much to add. But I utterly sympathize with you and your goth boy situation. If I were you I'd have had to smack him a few times by now (lovingly, of course)!
Yes, he's clearly scared. And, no, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it (except drive yourself nuts). I think that you should back off for a while, find something else to do with yourself, a distraction of some sort. You're not doing yourself any favors by putting so much effort into this, trust me I know! Think of it this way, you can either spend your time waiting for this guy to psychoanalyze himself, and dredge up 20 years worth of repressed emotions, or you could be doing something fun, like knitting, or installing wall to wall carpeting. Heh.
Honestly, I think you should give him a little while, maybe even a month or so, and then tell him again that you'd really like to try a relationship, but that you can't keep waiting anymore. Ask him out on a date, and be specific about it being a date. If he still can't make any kind of committment at that point, you should move on. Really. Some people just aren't ready for a relationship. I know, it sucks. But you can't make somebody do something that they aren't comfortable with. (Unless you've got a few years worth of patience.)
Anyway, good luck with him! I hope he has a sudden epiphany, and asks you out this weekend!
