Probably the rule for election-relaed stuff is ' first, think later.' It'll have to be refered to the Grown Ups and will be back once they've had a peek.

Oh yeah - June 4th in UK, 7th elsewhere.
(And yes, I'm in the UK - need to be a bit more careful when looking things up in a hurry!)

If Shakespeare was Bacon, can Muslims read Hamlet?

On a related theme...R4's 'Book of the Week' a while back was about a woman who found/translated one of the earliest copies of the Matthew in the Sinai in the 19thC. It ends with the woman finding the tomb empty. So presumably all the walking on water and Sermon on the Mount and Ascencion stuff are later additions.

Though I wasn't planning on coming to that for a few months yet, you are exactly right.
Furthermore, the two women are described as 'telling no-one what they found'. In other words - contrary to what apologists like Lee Strobel would have us believe - the earliest Christian documents seem to be explaining why there *wasn't* an empty tomb (or at least, not a known one), rather than pointing out that there was.
Furthermore, when longer endings to Mark do start to appear, there are a couple of different versions.

I was really pissed off at 'Gladiator' when Marcus Aurelius put his feet into stirrups, which weren't to be invented for a few centuries. One glance at Marcus' equestrian statue would have told the filmmakers about that important fact: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ec/Marcus.aurelius.horse.statue.rome.arp.jpg
