it doesn't 'demand' anything. If, however, you would like to respond in a transcendental manner (if that phrase actually has any meaning) then go ahead. Perhaps others would like to approach things more logically and actually come to an *understanding* of history rather than just responding to it.

trust me, you'll never get an answer to this one. You won't even get them to acknowledge that the question has been asked.smiley - sadface

You mean my question about how, if the supernatural is parallel to the natural world, is it supposed to intersect or interact with it?

Perhaps if we repeat it often enough I might stand a chance, Surely they won't ignore me forever. smiley - winkeye

mmmm, how long ago did you start asking that question anhaga?

Although let us not be put off asking it - when anhaga asked it many moons ago it was one of main catalysts in the development of my thinking on the nature of existence and reality. It was a significant part of what started me on the path to rationalism as an approach to life.

Hi Effers,

As always, an interesting and offbeat point.

But... how am I supposed to put that in my Gifopedia? Argh!

So, just post A42586266, and then leave it at that until someone responds?

Nobody will respond. I got tired of typing the thing out every time I wanted to ask again. Now I can just cut and paste or just put in the link.

But nobody will respond since, after all, there can be no answer.

Just thinking a bit about Effer's idea that we can't say whether or not we believe in God until theists can say what they mean by 'God'.

Isn't it a bit passive? What's to stop us from coming up with a definition of 'God' and deciding whether we believe in it or not?

My attitude is that I have a rough idea what people mean by 'God', and I don't believe that such an entity exists. There's always the danger that someone will say "Oh, to me God is just my personal feeling of love for mankind" or "God is nature" or "God is whatever caused the Universe, but probably isn't an intelligent being". Then I'd have to admit that those things exist - but I wouldn't call them God.

(And plus, if we have our own definition of GOd then we could tell theists that what they believe in isn't really God smiley - laugh)

GOD is the unified theory of everything
which science is trying to discover at the moment

when they work it out it will prove that GOD exists and therefore God will disapear in a puff of logic

It never ceases to amaze me how religiotards manage to string words together into so many superficially coherent, yet ultimately meaningless phrases.

They really believe what they say makes sense....
