VW beetle? VW camper?
In the uk the Capri, cortina and escort too.
I was speaking to Uber Red the other day and he'd never heard of the Ford T. And he's really into cars, weird isn't it.
I'd say the most famous models were:
VW Beetle
Rolls Royce Silver Ghost
Ford T
Austin Mini
Morris 1000

ohh what about the MG miget, I don't just mean the 'sprite' types, but the T types and M types etc.
Also I think for the Mini you'd be better off just saying Mini, rather than just one company's version. After all you have the earliest models, the Morris Mini Minor and the Austin 7, along with the Riley Elf and Wolsely Hornet. Then you get the Morris/Austin Mini, which BL in their infinite idiocy tried to replace with the Mini Metro. This led on to the Mini, manufactured by Rover but just badged as a Mini, can't remember if the later ones added the Rover name, but I don't think they did. Finally we come to the (new) Mini, manufactured by Mini, a subsidury of BMW.

A Rolls Royce Silver Shadow! I figment of somebodies imagination can never be really famous, it's just to transient. But the real thing will live forever.

Useless bit of information # 719- I met Mr. Edsel Ford II at a Lincoln / Mercury event.
FTB- the Midget was an abomination! A cheap, shoddy version of the pre-1973 MGBs. IMHO, anyway.
What about the Beatles' *psychedelic* Rolls?

umm you're thinkinking of the Austin Healy Sprite/MG Midget, I was thinking more things like the J, M and T types, the TC is probably the most sought after MG ever, with the TA, TB and TD close behind, the remodeled front of the TF put a lot of people off that model.

Apples and.....apples. Here the Morris Garage MG Midget was alone with that name. The Austin Healy Sprite was called just that, I've never heard of it being called a *Midget* here. Sorry, trans-Atlantic linguistic cockup again.

Let me just say my all-time favorite car was my 1959, 1600cc MG Model A.
She was a great automobile as long as you kept the SU carburetors tuned

Ok, right, in the UK the mk1 AH Sprite is known as the 'frog-eye sprite' as it's headlamps make it look like it's got bug-eyes. The later models of the AH sprite where also badged up as MG's and were the midgets.
Also the MGA is probably one the the most beutiful cars in the world. It is also the MG I would have over all others.

if it's a model of car the VW "käfer", "beetle", coccinelle" (every language has a pet name for it) is the hands down winner.
if it's a particular car, my personal vote is for steed's bentley.

ahh, i only saw the first page of this string before answering... otherwise i surely would have flipped for the MGA 1600 answer. my first car was a 1960 model; the only car i ever truely loved, the only car that still fills my heart with envy when i see one. the pull stem starter, the weird hydraulic turn signals, the wire you pulled to open the door. no glove box, but you could use the trunk for that, that's about how big it was.
