It's a darn shame nobody checked my work. YAHWEH is not prime in base 35; YAHXEH is. But a useless fact is that I was a YAHTZEE player with my mother's side of my family, so it still has some curiosity value. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, move along (old posts on numbers--never mind).

Guess what! Out of the sequence 109, 10099, 1000999,..., the tenth value which is prime is 1 followed by forty-two 0s followed by forty-two 9s.

Ordinarily you'd like to ferment ales with ale yeasts at ale temps (around 65F) and lagers with lager yeasts at cooler lager temps (around 50F). Out of necessity, some California gold rush era breweries fermented lagers at ale temperatures, but with lager yeasts. Legend has it that when the extra carbon dioxide produced under these conditions escaped, it sounded like steam, hence the name.

Here's a useless fact:

When I search for a useless fact, I often find it interesting and not useless after all.

EG: I thought of the fact that most dogs have black noses. So I thought I'd better check, and I found that 8.75 % of dogs have brown noses and that a further 2.75% have other colours.

Now that may be useless to you, but I now want to know what other colours, so I have to keep googling and that leads onto lots of interesting other facts, and though they maybe useless, they are sometimes very useful facts about dogs generally.
