Why do motorists always talk about the dangers cyclists put themselves in without acknowledging the dangers motorists put us in.
Think about it how many times a week are you cut up? Or does someone appear not to have seen you? How often does another motorist break the rules in the highway code, how often do you do it yourself?
Cyclists despite the bright clothes and the daft looking helmets are invisible to a lot of motorists, if they cant see the other big chunks of metal on wheels going about their not very likely to take much note os us.
Sure we jump onto the pavement and run red lights, because so many motorists are only watching the lights and not the road. We do it because its safer for us.
We dont need to go into thread 101 as you observed with your example of a cyclist under the juggernaught we are never far away from there anyway.

'messing with ma sweets' goes in to Thread 101.
TMMF and Blickybadger, I shall have to adjudicate that "people who don't follow the Highway Code, whether they're on a bike or in a car" go into Thread 101. If that's OK with you guys?
I personlly think that cyclists who ride at night without lights are in fact trying to commit suicide in an elaborate method that won't invalidate their life assurance payout to their beneficiaries.

Sounds fair to me RF. If you decide against, then The Highway Code should go in, as it will be a useless book that no-one will take any notice.
So Cyclists/Drivers who don't observe the Highway Code in, or the Highway Code itself in please.
in anticipation,

I'm perfectly happy to chuck Shrub and Bliar in, but some people might object...opening this one up to the floor - your votes count! (Unlike in Florida.)

Bush - I don't think we should put him in, we should be going for the organ-grinders, not their little Texan monkey. Blair should go in before he loses the next General Election and curses us with a Tory government that is just out for revenge

If we put Bush in, at least we'll know where he is... Then we can go after whoever's been pulling his strings .

Aahh, but does Bush exist or is it just a program for Bushism?
I know they should both go in, and I don't care who replaces them. Beelzebub would be better than those hypocrits.
Where is Bleugh's honest Government?
and a third time
Sorry folks, didn't want to contaminate the Thread, by leaving traces of WMD (Warped Megalomaniacal Despots) lying around.
Ps, any response to the highway code yet?
