Some of them I hear around the place most of them I read in a big boys comic called Viz they have published a book called a "Profanisaurus" that is a dictionary of alternative swear words and phrases I'll get some for you tomorrow. Right now Im trying to find the origins of the neck tie.

Ah, the profanisaurus. My personal fave was "The purple-headed womb-broom"
Completely tasteless and juvenile.
Great.

Blues,
Looks like a fine scupture to me.
'Shadism'???? Well, it's like I always say - it's a world gone totally mad.

When a society has had the idea that the colour of your skin is all important beat into its mindset as violently as it was in Jamaica it is saddening but not surprising how hard it is even for people who dont accept those opinions to free them selves of that mind set.
Maybe they need to be reminded that he man who wrote redemption songs was the son of a white man and a black woman.
And yes the statue of the man is completely in proportion.
Anyway the neck scarf, tie, cravat and neckercheif are all closely related. They were used to wipe/absorb sweat and to make the collar a tight seal. The modern necktie is a western european development that is a toned down version of the vain and foppish ruffs and cravats of the Stewart period. So there is something else we have to thank Cromwell for.
PS be careful when you are looking up cravats on the web you can end up on some weird bonddage sites.

And why should I want to be beware of those?
What? What are you all looking at? Somebody had to say it...

Well, I *was* about to make a quip about that, Blues, that some people might not find Blicky's warning a 'warning' at all. But then thought I'd wait for you to do it - and you did!

Recent research has shown that wearing a tight tie can be harmful to your eyes. Another good reason to loosen up!

One of the site I looked at said some hospitals were stopping quacks from wearing ties as they were carrying germs
around on them. Apparently dickie bows are a sight more hygienic.

And since when have ever been characterised as reluctant?
Burn them, burn them all and never make new ones.

And you observe, ladies and gentlemen, how easy it is to keep certain memebers of the community happy and contented with relatively harmless pastimes...
