Well, I'd have to say long hair is generally nicer on girls, but then there are some who look better with it quite short.
Now what's really nice is if the tips of the ears just poke through

I'd just like to add that South American women love long hair on blokes. Or at least they did when I was there with long hair.

I love long hair on chaps; a glossy ponytail at the back makes some chaps look incredibly gorgeous. Bob Flowerdue had a wonderful tail and is closely followed by one of the tutors here in the college.
On the other hand some chaps are better suited to very short/shaved heads and I quite like that look too.
I’ve had my hair both very long (four years ago I could sit on my plat) and cut very short. When it was long it was too long and I couldn’t do anything with it – it just kept escaping. With it short it is far easier to cope with and after a couple of weeks growth its natural wave softened the style but was controllable.
At the moment I’m attempting to grow the stuff again and it hasn’t been cut since the end of October. It’s more from curiosity than any other reason that I’m growing it, to see if I can persuade the stuff to grow into some sort of presentable style rather than an escaping mass.
Currently it’s driving me mad and strongly resembles a drunken dish mop. Whilst this is working in my favour atm. by providing me with a mad warrior style covering for a battle I’m involved in for a local production, I think its days are numbered and that I’ll be off to have it chopped off again in the near future.

To be utterly honest I couldn't actually say whether I had any preference at all ... if it suits you, it suits you, if it doesn't, it doesn't ... the good thing about hair though? It grows ... even if you chop it all off it'll grow back.
Short and dark or Long and fair ... hmm

The only problem with that it never grows back the same.
I go from realy long hair to a phase of short hair.
the trouble if you have thick hair when it starts to grow again it gets to a stage you cant manage it to it gets passed that stage..
That is a nightmare.
I had waist long hair to last year now its short.
Both suites me

Here here. I've got very thick hair and it's reached 'that' stage now and there's nothing I can do with it. It's too short to tie back and left loose it quickly becomes a springy shaggy mop.

Hi Abi

Abi Posted Jul 23, 2003
No but it is sooo distressing.
I am hoping that it is because I am not eating properly and I need to lose some weight.

"the good thing about hair though? It grows ... even if you chop it all off it'll grow back."
Abi - you've just reminded me of something. I definitely seem to be losing less hair since I've lost weight, got more exercise, and made a concerted effort to chill out. Isn't that peculiar! So the same may work for you
All the men I've been romantically involved with have preferred me with long hair - wanted me to grow it if it was short, and expressed horror at my idea of cutting it when it was long.
I think it's one of those natural basic attraction things, but couldn't tell you why - B or Gnomon will probably know, they tend to know all sorts of odd things!
It's also I think a romantically based thing, just as most men prefer long hair, most women can't say they wouldn't go weak at the knees at a broad muscular man emerging from wet spray in a white shirt and black trousers.. a la D'arcy ahem, I digress
Men should only have long hair if they look after it, then it's Very nice . The main annoying thing about long hair is that it takes so flippin' long to wash
(Just below shoulder length 'dirty' blonde hair - growing for wedding.)

i sometimes wish i could grow my hair long, but i've got curly hair and so i have to keep it fairly shortish and its *always* at 'that' stage. it usually looks like ripped-oot wool, which is if it gets any longer than shoulder length i start to look like crystal-tips!
oh, and i prefer my men with no hair at all!

It's not so much the washing that takes all the time but the drying after that's a nightmare. Especially in the middle of winter when it's freezing cold.
Aragorn, Legolas, Hornblower etc. Long hair on men looks good.

Men's hair length seems to have mixed cultural effects. I got quite a few complements when mine was long, but it did seem to cut down my personal space quite drastically: to the point where people would bump into me on the street sometimes, as if my hair was a cloak of invisibility. Funnily enough, when I shaved it all off, people would cross the road 100 yards away to keep out of my path.
Very
For women's hair I tend to go with the "whatever suits" POV, but, Persis Khambatta notwithstanding, there is a certain aesthetic appeal to waist-length+ locks, however much of a pig they are to maintain...

Yeah, there's a "first impressions" thing about short hair. One guy told me I looked like a "ballbreaker" cos I have short hair and dont wear much make-up
And when I was younger I fantasised about having long black hair...
