Sorry for waiting so long to answer this one, but the following jogged something in my "not so extensive" memory:
from post 106:
"And, I would submit, the more assiduously we should pursue it until either
(a) a reason is forthcoming, and one backed by a rational thought process at that, OR
(b) the decision is reversed.
FB/HVL, you got this thing dumped on you just prior to last weekend, right? It may well be they were feeling legally exposed in light of the apprehension of a well-known felon who used "do it yourself porn" to video himself into prison for the next 124 years. I'm referring to the grandson of Max Factor who actually filmed himself committing felonious sexual assault on three women.
Maybe they thought in some bizarre way that should some abysmally stupid person pervert your guide entry and do the same as this Luster (that's really his name!) guy did, that somehow they could sort of maybe in some remote chance be sued?
VERY slim (or dim, as the case may be) thinking, but they are a corporation and most of those are getting very paranoid these days.
Certainly not very plausible, but who knows WHAT corporate legal departments spend their time doing?
They definitely owe you and KV an explanation. No question.

Good to see the same old crowd here, after all. Only one missing, really. Anyone know Lucinda's email address?

You can always find hir at Wikipedia, I reckon.
(I only call him 'hir' because sie'd be into that sort of thing.)

I was that last night, which is why I refrained from posting here to Hi! to good yourself. There are some places where it's ok to post gibberish. Didn't feel this was the place, though.
Frankly , this whole thing saddends me for a number of reasons, but on the other hand, it is kinda nice to see all the old familiar faceslimbering up for at least a bit of a squabble, if not an outright fight...

Hell, what's there to fight about here? We all seem to agree on the salient points: it's a damn shame what happened, and there's only to bet on whether or not there'll be any redress of grievences, and if so, whether it'll be this calendar year or next. I'm betting no and neither, but at least I'm in the right corner, and that's got to count somewhere.

Well, I meant a fight with authority, not amongst ourselves...
I fea that it will only be a little bit of a squabble because we all seem to share the view that we aren't actually expecting to get any sensible answers from those that should be giving them.

Wow - a double commendation from GTB, *and* a rather accidental and promising new cave entrance after Wednesday night's digging trip, albeit currently a paralysingly unstable one. "It's ridculously loose. Even for North Wales."
It must be my week. Maybe I should go for the triple and buy a lottery ticket (if I only knew how to).
Awaiting some official reasons for the revocation decision (or at least, some kind of post-hoc justifiication)....
"Though we understood at the time that FB was preparing to deploy a much more offensive article, possibly within 45 minutes, and we acted in good faith, it seems now that the original information may have been inaccurate. However, isn't the guide so much *better* now without the article?"

I heard a very funny and, sadly, true joke a number of years ago.
A man goes out into his own garden and sunbathes in the nude. His neighbour (a woman) calls the police and reports him for indecent exposure.
The next day, the woman goes out into her garden and sunbathes nude. The man sees her. He calls the police and is arrested for being a peeping tom.

It means he wrote and entry, it was accepted and everything was fine.
Then everything was suddenly not fine because someone else in higher command had made a different decision. The entry disappears.
He seems particularly peeved that it set up to look as though he was the one responsible for removing the entry -- I know I'd be peeved in the scenario.
Hoo did not get an acceptable answer as to why this had happened, and has now left in frustration. I wish him well
Is that the kind of answer you were looking for?

I think the unwritten (well, it's written now ) Coda to that explanation is that Hoov has already done this sort of thing twice, and we'd be very surprised, not to mention disappointed, if he didn't come back for another crack, so to speak.

Not even close. HVL (Fumerious Bandersnatch... whatever!) gave a link to an entry about female masterbation and said what was described there was illegal... so, is it really?

He probably meant that it was illegal in public.
