2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Nov 6, 2003
Good to hear from you again Bels, sorry to hear things have been a bit rough (probably one heck of an understatement), but good to find they are improving a bit, I guess the fact they are improving, even if only slightly, might give us hope they improve even more 'keep taking the platenium' Thought about trying gold? Good luck

Would it were that so many good wishes and so much caring and love could help change a physical reality. And who knows that it cannot? Some believe that the power of prayer can change things. I'm not religious but I do hope that the massive amount of positive thoughts and energy and love we have all sent in Bel's direction might make a difference.
Bels, you are in the thoughts of so many people all the time. People you have never met, but they have come to love you and care about you and your family. Many of whom I am sure wish they could do more to help out.
I want to believe that all of this positive energy *will* help. So I continue to send you my love along with the others here.
Keep well, darling. And never think that you cannot talk about how you are feeling if you think that might also help. After all, you've got this total 'love network' happening here.

Q: Is life worth living?
A: That depends on the liver!

Azahar said some interesting things there.
I once read (probably somewhere here on H2G2) that an experiment was done to see if prayer helped. Some people were given pictures of women with risky pregnancies in a country halfway across the world. They were asked to pray for these women. Although none of the pregnant women knew about the prayers, the half of the group who were prayed for fared better than the other half.
But statistics can be manipulated or even invented.
Bels is doing the right thing - he has come into the open with his worries and it's the simple effect of "a trouble shared is a trouble halved".
Something that women have always done and men had trouble understanding - they called it "gossip" and "washing one's dirty linen in public" and boring people with gory and unsavoury information about their insides.
We are all interested, we can all relate. We all know someone who's had some form of cancer, and we all know that it can hit us, too, any time.
So keep your pecker up Bels - you are helping others just as much by your attitude and you deserve special treatment and lots of moments of happiness and freedom from pain and worry.
Here's the thread about the experiment. I don't know whether to believe it or not. F19585?thread=239038
