My mother's comment did not take kindly to Virginia Wolfe's book "To the Lighthouse" - it is irritatingly experimental - anyway her response to it was: "I really cannot like a book where the main character dies in brackets". At 17, and up my own : I disagreed with her.
Re Homer, and "Where's the 'Any' key?" - a colleague was once rebooting a PC for me - he could find the Control key and the Alt key and asked "Where's the 'Del' key?" to which I, in all innocence, replied: "Um... it isn't a Dell, it's a Sony. "
What punctuation would I least like to inhabit? I think there is something rather powerful and secretive about the non-breaking space.

Yes, but do people use one hand or two when pressing Crtl-Alt-Del?
Wouldn't fancy being a dog sperm...

is that really a form of punctuation or are you just being vulgar?
also is there some sort of inside joke here about ellipses? i honestly don't get why that's funny...
on punctuation, the # might not be so bad because if you get bored you can always play noughts and crosses. (random fact, a hash --># is also called an octothorpe)

You can - I can't see what the problem is. Humorous thread = leftfield responses. Or we could all leave our sense of humour at the door and write entries for iMDB.
Hootoo's much more fun.

Can we count as punctuation?
If so I wouldn't like to be caught up in one of those for a very long time....
for paracetamol....

For Kelli:
Ode to an Ellipse
Fade far away... dissolve... and quite forget
What thou among the spots hast never known...
The weariness... the waiting... and the fret
Here... where we sit and watch the smileys groan...
Where keyboards challenge a few... sad... hitchhikers...
Where minds grow pale... and spectre-thin... and dies
of boredom... to think and be full of anguish
And leaden-eyed compares...
how commas cannot keep their lustrous eyes...
and tri-spots pine at them despite their wish...

"Great poetry
Is that not more or less the topic, finding combinations of words and punctuations (the dash is not) but then in a double context. The second and third level you make up yourself .
... _ _ _ ... ellipsis and underscore sign "

Wilma, great poem

I'm guessing Jack was making a reference to the exclamation mark! which, back in the good old days of hot metal, printers used to refer to as dogs' c*cks.
Or maybe he was just being vulgar
Kelli, I use ellipsis far too often...

Being in a coma isn't all its cracked up to be... I tried it for three months but got boared after that time Now, being stuck in a comma could be most uncomfetable.... but I think the worse would be being stuck between ' and ' or " and ".... contextually continueally and for perpetuity quoted out fof context

To make that memorable quote quoted.
