over here in the U S of A, we call these recurring annoyances Pet Peeves

PH and/ or P: the use of the "uncomfortabe" card to get out of doing something you don't want to do

PH and/or P: almost all "politically correct" behaviours

Ph: when it's too warm at night to get a proper sleep

Yeah.....

And when you have an air conditioner thing that can fix that problem, but then just introduces the whole new problem of being really loud.

That damned Call Me Maybe song. Ugh. Plus, Sweden.

Wow, a whole country. What did they do to get on your nerves so?

Moronic audience clapping in time during the performance of a piece of music.

The problem is (partly) that it often isn't always in time, and (partly) that it detracts from the performance anyway because it gets so damn loud.

And whilst I'm at it, what is it with clapping and whooping and whistling over the intro of a familiar song? STFU and listen for goodness sake!

PH: Companies that have different cup sizes depending on the style of the bra. I don't mean Playtex cupsizes are different from, say, Triumph. I expect such differences. My 'peeve' is that I buy all my bras from one place - M&S. In most of their ranges (Autograph, Per Una, Limited Collection, etc.) I am 38F. If I want a T-shirt bra, I have to buy a 38G.

I'm trying to lose weight and I'm hoping the same situation won't exist when I'm down to a DD cup. (Forlorn hope! )

I have the same problem. Also there seems to be some size creep downward going on.

PH: seeing people's sunburn everywhere you look!

Mr X, they produced the twit who won the Eurovision and someone else who doesn't deserve my breath nor yours.

PH: nightmares. Really realistic ones. Ugh. And oversleeping, while we're at it.

I second oversleeping, though for entirely different reasons.

When your exam session's about to start and you need to be up for lectures and suchlike, it isn't good... but we're all exhausted.

when you ask someone to feed your cat for the one night your away from home then return to find they have "helpfully" tidied the kitchen and rearranged all your knick-knacks and thrown away a perfectly good salt shaker because it was a little oxidised... it would have cleaned up with a little scrubbing

That one throbby blood vessel in your eyelid. It's driving me insane.

And that does sound very annoying, Anthea!

Argh, that one that makes your eyelash twitch? I hate that.

PH: Tics. I just found a humongous one above my elbow.

that's a good point, I never checked for ticks after scrambling through all that underbrush on Sunday.

This is a very petty hate: a very pleasant,competent medical technician, who was young enough to be my granddaughter,called me by my first name throughout our appointment today

Ah. Inappropriate use of first names.

I was listening to the radio yesterday and a reporter and a police officer were referring to a 93 woman who was attacked in her home and had now died as 'Emma' rather than 'Mrs Winnall'.

It didn't sound right at all.
