It's a bit of a malarky, but if I see the yellow updates (!) on the shutdown icon, and I'm in a bit of a hurry, I go to power options and change the 'close lid' action to 'do nothing'. Then I can initiate shutdown, close the lid and take the laptop away whilst it chugs on with its updates.

Same.
PH: iPhone 4. Where is Siri? I backed up, I have restored from said iPhone 4 but no Siri? Originally restored from 3GS phone. Anyone know how to get it back?

PH: there's one taxi firm in town that I will not use - for a number of very good reasons. But now they are taking over all the other firms so it's getting difficult not to use them

PH: I bought some quite expensive foundation recently - thought I'd treat myself. There were no mirrors near the make-up shelves, and no natural light near the mirrors (which I found half way across the shop) The first bottle I bought, when I got it home, I discovered was for oily skin. Not for my dry skin. So I went back and changed it for an equally expensive one in exactly the same colour, same make.
Now I've tried it out, the colour is .

PH Venomous spiders living in my car. They haven't caused any problems (yet) but Britain's import, the False Widow, can put you in hospital. I've just got rid of one, but are there any others lurking?

Ha, Mala, no, on my laptop! On that note, I thought I had Siri. That’s what I was doing the hard reset for, to get it back. I only have an iPhone 4 so I don't have Siri in the first place, and now I can’t get onto the university Wifi. I was not pleased this morning.
Argh, quotes, WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Why are they in your CAR?
PH: Flight tomorrow. In airport an hour away. NOT gonna spend money on taxi down there like mother says I should, I have a cheaper way down, but it involves a train at some part, probably lots of exertion, and the trains are crap here (read: physically dangerous for anyone disabled, no matter which way). It’s a new line and seems like a relatively good train so I think I’ll take me chances but me ma will bust a vessel, LOL. REBEL YO, LOL.
PH 2: Opened window, music loud. Packing. Big spider. Window slammed shut damned quick. PH is my damn phobia.

I don't know!. Any tips on how to deal with them is much appreciated. So far, I've just hoovered them up, because hey are slow. And by 'them', I mean just one; but I got rid of one last year, too, so I fear it might have had lots of little ones

The way that the BBC seem to saturate their channels and stations (? why 'channel' on TV and 'station' on radio?), with. the same person doing loads of stuff.
Colin Murray.
Nicky Campbell
Chris Evans.

When my eyes read things that aren't really there. I was reading about somebody walking on a "biscuit circuit". This sounded intriguing, and I was wondering what a biscuit circuit is. When I re-read the sentence I realised my eyes had inserted the "biscuit" out of nowhere because of the _I_CUIT in circuit.
And earlier I read the question "Physics: harmless fun or dangerous fraud?" This didn't really make sense until I realised it said *psychics*.

Not sure where I stand on this. I have an 'issue'.
I sit and watch the TV weather and two minutes later have no idea what weather is proposed. I just don't take it in. I am transfixed by Carol Kirkman's lovely smile.
I may as well just admit it. I am smitten.
