Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

Oh, he's probably just listening to Celine Dion to be ironic.

Public transport in NI smiley - rolleyes Looks like the easiest way to pick up my car is to take the train to Bangor, then cycle 45 minutes from there.

Mala, it's taken you this long to figure out transport in NI is crap? I'll counter you. Polish public transport. Much, much worse. Trains are standing room a lot of the time, slow, narrow aisles, dangerous... buses are a bit better.

Mal, was that from the Translink journey planner? It's a masterpiece of fiction - where did you need to pick the car up from?

Never trust the Translink planner, it put me 12 hours out once... better to learn whatever you need off by heart. Safer!

I found out the public transport gets annoying in my (British) city when the local football team plays. I assume buses are diverted for fans, which is nice for them, but no use for the rest of us who unexpectedly discover we are stranded, with the hi-tech display boards telling us buses will arrive which never do.

The racist way in which news gets reported.

Today, 31 Americans killed by tornadoes and it is headline news. Had that been Bangladesh or Cambodia or Nigeria, would it have even MADE the news?

PP, yes, if many deaths were involved, I think. I only give a damn about American news if I'm in the States, likewise I don't give a damn about what's going on at home since I am not here (even more crap that will just rile me).

We're not in the US so why is that news headline? Should be fourth or fifth on the running order, maybe.

Getting a $30 fine for speeding, at 105kph, 10 days ago.

The max is 100 and the police website leads me to believe that 110 'will not usually' be prosecuted.
What's more, it was on a road where we saw very few other vehicles for the 2 or 3 hour drive.
