PH: Seeing clothes you like when you can't or don't want to buy then never finding anything when you're desparate.

Now you tell me! An Italian 75B is too tight for a starling, a German 75B can carry a week´s shopping...whatever you choose, a man can´t but lose.

I've probably posted this before. It's not so much my PH as a PH by proxy. In other words, it's hubby's PH - changing the formula of a shampoo for no obvious reason. Hubby uses anti-dandruff shampoo and used to get the own-brand stuff from a well-known chemist (think footwear). Then they changed the formula to include some kind of zinc compound. It no longer suited his hair, so he switched to the own-brand stuff from our local supermarket. That was OK for some time. Now *they* have changed the formula and it no longer suits his hair. So we now have to go through the hassle of trying other brands of anti-dandruff shampoo to find one he can live with. The leading brand contains a zinc compound, so that's off the list before we start. (The addition of zinc was the most obvious difference to the original stuff he used, so we're assuming that's the problem ingredient.)

Somebody on here posted something a while back about such dilemmas not existing in her home town in Russia.
You go to store. There is precisely one variety of everything; coffee, shampoo, soap, whatever
I long for such simplicity in the weekly shop. The only decision needed is; do I need product type- yes or no.

Cheerful, I'm sure there's a website that gives you all the ingredients in cosmetic products, so you can look up the ones without zinc. I can't think of it off the top of my head, but I shall have a look and see if I can find it for you
Hair care based PH: Silicon in shampoo and conditioner. Some brands put it there to coat the follicle and create a sleeker, shinier and more controllable barnet...but with prolonged use stops allowing the hair to absorb moisture and vitamins and leaving it dry, brittle, wiry and in terrible condition. (To the point where permanent hair dyes wash out within a week because the colour can't penetrate the follicle.)
I speak from experience. It look me two years to grow out the damage that that crap did to my hair, it's also why I stopped straightening it and decided to embrace the curl!

The joys of going bald; my hair washing regime consists of washing my face with bog standard soap, then continuing further up my face

to add to the current trend for Personal Hygene Products PHs:
Shampoo, showergel, body lotion etc etc containers that can not be stood on their heads to make sure the last part is useable.

I'm with you on that one, Sho. My current shower stuff comes in a bottle with a rounded top, so it's hard to empty the bottle completely. My shampoo's OK, though - nice flat top on that bottle. Body lotion - what's that?

PH: Enjoying a refreshing shower when either the dishwasher, washing machine is started, some one flushes the down stairs loo, runs the tap in the kitchen or a nasty mysterious Gremlin decides to play havoc with your water supply.
Leaving you high and dry, covered in bubbles, soap stinging your eye and the volume of water coming out of the shower is reduced to a pitiful drip or no water at all

or when instead of the water simply not coming the temperature switches to the exact opposite of your nice warm shower and you are pelted with the coldest water in the house

Shower attachments for the bath. We have one which is part of the tap, it either comes out so hot you get third degree burns or so cold you get frost bite, this is also either at a dribble, a sputter or water cannon pressure.
Other than rinsing the bath when cleaning it's good for nothing more than falling on your foot during a nice bath.
