Sho - employed again! Posted Aug 1, 2011
What brand of phone is it, TC? You should be able to reinstall the software...
My phone dialls random people from my addressbook nevermind who I actually wanted to call, and switches itself of when it is bored or tired. It's pants but I can't change it.

A document written on a mac in Open Office. Save it as a .doc & all seems well.
However, take it to a print shop and lo! A text box has disappeared.
pdf is my friend (I hope)

I think I'll just get a new one, Sho. It's a Samsung and I discovered too late that it runs on a Samsung-specific OS and can't really do anything clever at all. I'm a little flush at the moment and maybe I can sell the other one anyway.

PHotD: realising that procrastination has made you lose the opportunity to tell someone you really like how you feel about them. Not sad, just frustrated with myself.

TC, throw it into the eekbay and get yourself a phone that doesn´t claim to be Einstein´s pet. My €16,99 stone age contraption never acts up.
(well, ok - I´m not cellphone age. I regularly have to phone myself to find out which coat I´ve left it in)

I love sweetcorn.
But have an irrational petty hate that it all seems to pass thought undigested.

Avoidable bad design.
Mr car has three stupid design faults.
1. The windscreen wipers are pivoted at the extreme right and left so they both park pointing inwards. The driver's side parks first followed by the passenger side which leaves a streak of water from its tip across the driver's side. Park them the other way round and the passenger would get it.
2. The wing mirrors are shaped so that if you have a view of kerbs (useful for parking) you don't get a proper view of cars over your right shoulder. A bigger mirror, one that is a better shape or just slightly convex would cure that one and save repeated adjustment.
3. In warm weather, a heavy shower causes the windscreen to steam up. his is a well documented problem and mine is not a new model.

1. Switch them off while they're up
2. Stick a bigger mirror over the top
3. Stop breathing.
Probably not much help. Sorry.

What I *meant* to say was - Have you read "The curious incident of the Dog in the Night?" That kid had a thing about sweet corn not being digested, too.

Potholes.
Especially potholes that I hit at nearly 30 mph on my bicycle

Oxfordshire has re classified it's pot holes this week and now they are not pot holes if they are smaller than.......and I quote 'A soup bowl'
As our illustrious leader lives in Witney (sometimes) I suspect they will not be Tureens

Tickets? Forget it. €120 for the Rolling Stones last time they were here, and they "played" on full playback.

Updates
Some updates (and not only in Microsoft) set all your programmes back to default settings and you have to spend half a morning trying to remember all your macros and boiler plates and re-instate them. Not to mention loss of favourites and history.
I drive the IT people at work mad because I refuse to accept the updates. I tell them I may as well get the typewriter out and go back to using that.
