Pit, there are no short bits, it can be pages of stuff. PH? Trying to organise this trip to London at damned short notice. Gah!

Anna, the short bits are the pips you have to find and the flesh will stay in memory - training that is why they make you read so much.
PH - TV "documentaries" that leave the real information out because some TV morons think their viewers are stupid.

That micro-feeling of dread when filling in a form online and I click on the 'help' or similar link and the screen goes blank as a new page loads. Hard to explain but i suspect I'm not alone, or there wouldn't be so many sites using small pop-ups or hovering text for this sort of thing. You just don't want the 'hassle', delay and potential for minutes worth of entered data being lost that often accompanies new pages being loaded Irrational I know, but I just want to be told if clicking on a link will cause me to leave the page.

May I bring your petty hate to an end?
Always right-click on the link ... depending on your browser that will usually give you the option to "Open link in new tab"

winnoch2 - Impostair Syndromair Extraordinaire Posted Apr 13, 2011
Yeah I know this, but sometimes I just like to live life on the edge and go with the left in the assumption that it'll open elsewhere anyway. I've only got myself to blame really because I'm too lazy to use two hands or do one extra click.

toybox Posted Apr 13, 2011
I once configured a mouse to open links in new tabs upon wheelclicking.

winnoch2 - Impostair Syndromair Extraordinaire Posted Apr 13, 2011
That sounds like an excellent idea toybox . I remember seeing such a screen and I did once allocate functions to my mouse buttons (left side button is 'back' browser page). But I can't see these options anywhere now in windows 7. Just all the generic power and driver management stuff in control panel.

toybox Posted Apr 14, 2011
However, it can lead to long hours of web browsing without moving at all, except for tiny movements of the mouse hand

It's this stormy, oppressive weather, Toybox. I don't know about you up there, but we had bright sunshine, thunder, hail, rain and sun again all in the space of a couple of hours yesterday. April weather!

toybox Posted Apr 14, 2011
We've had a few changes like that around here too (but less extreme. Hail? ). So I'll blame the weather (and 2legs to be on the safe side).

It really bugs me when I watch an interesting, informative video on YouTube and I look to the comments only to find that people have left stupid comments about the looks of the presenter.
"You're hot!"
"I'd give you a thumbs up no matter what you said!"
For god's sake.

What bugs me about Youtube is when I'm watching music videos and some idiots have made pointless comments about Justin Beiber and others have made negative remarks about the bands sexuality because they don't to EXACTLY the music they like.

PH? Yep, still personal statements. I’m on the fourth draft now. Ugh. But a worse one is how I have to enlarge text on computer screens. If I don’t, I squint. (I don’t have to do it on my laptop.)
Are my eyes that bad? Nah... Let’s blame the websites!
Pit, all the stuff is trawled through. I don’t have to sit and read crap, I just check the index, go to the relevant pages, have a skim and note the numbers down for photocopying later. On that note... a massive PH is how the university makes us pay for photocopying and printing. It’s not like we’re broke enough, is it? Best bit is I can do it for free at home, so

Anna, learning to make do with next to no money is the most valuable part of being a student. Non scolae sed vita discimus.

Rod, de Gubmint don´t see anything. Gigahate :
they have the splendid idea to chop one year off Gymnasium (Grammar School). Result is halfbaken illiterates and two generations of one year fighting for places in alre4ady overcrowded universities.
Not a PH.
