I like people taking my photo without my permission- the natural photos are the good ones (but I’m a bit of an amateur photographer so I would say that).
Petty hate? College. And writing Law papers when you’ve absolutely no idea what the hell you are talking about much less care. Anyone know when homosexuality was made legal in N. Ireland- was it ’67?
Oh, and having to work off an external monitor cos your laptop screen is broken. Grrrrr. Very awkward and means I have had to enlarge the text of everything I read so I can actually SEE it.

Shouldn't that be "stopped being illegal" rather than "made legal"?
My Uni is my justified hate for the day, and the legal papers I'll have to write them if they don't get their act together

Bomba, thank you. Wiki told me that (uni goes bats*** if we use it- we're not s'posed to).
Legal papers? Ugh. They suck but I have mine written now.

Yes, but if it's not rewritable, it doesn't matter how much you put on it; after you finish the writing process, you can't go back and add more things later.

No. The rewritable ones are DVD-RW and DVD+RW.

(For CDs, at least, there might be some settings in your burning software for allowing you to *add* things to a disk later, but you'll have to check those specifically, and it might mean that your computer can't read it properly afterward! I don't know about DVDs.)

Yeah, it's called finalising the disc- it writes up a TOC (table of contents), and once that's done the disc is seen as full, even if you've only got a single word saved on it. It's always been that way.
Think Basalt is right (wright) and you can get software that'll not finalise a CD as default (try Nero perhaps?), but also not sure of its availability for DVD's.
Come to think of it, when I used this function it was on rewritable CD's. Never been able to record on a CD-R more than once.

Dresses with a zip on the left hand side, tucked under the armpit, which are impossible to do up unaided.

Being a man, I don't actually know anything about this subject. But when I visualize it in my head, it seems like that would be the ideal location for the zipper to any right-handed person. May I assume, therefore, that you are left-handed?

My son had a PH the other day. Why, he moans, do libraries never stock the whole of a series of books. I said that probably the other ones were on loan, but he says he'd checked that and he's definitely missing books 1 and 2 of Thursday Next.
